I am an artist, a writer and a teacher. I am particularly interested in what happens when we look at art. Are we affected by the pictorial space that we see for example? Do we behave differently in front of a deep landscape painting rather than a claustrophobic portrait where the staring figure is 'in our face', pushed right up to the picture plane?
Many of these written pieces are related in some way to art that I have seen or made. Is it possible to recreate that imaginative wander through a painting, but in words not paint?
I also run a website full of non fiction writing about art, and lots of examples of my own work, do have a look: http://whitemarkarts.wordpress.com/
