What is your opinion on writing a trilogy?

Most people nowadays write never ending series that go on for years.

My opinion is that series that end on book three have a lot more closure to them.

          	What do you guys think?

Spartan_sirius

@wifeofthewarlord definitely, trilogy's are awesome. If a book is to long it can get a bit exhausting unless, the author is good enough to be able to hold the readers attention.

Got a question...how the hell do you get out of a rut...when you've been working at a 100% for a long period of time and, no, a break is not an option. I hope someone out there can share some advice :,(

Spartan_sirius

@wifeofthewarlord I usually just sleep. Even If a break is truly not an option, I sure you can spare 5 minutes to get out of the environment. Forcing yourself in that state might not be very good for you. Take little breaks please

What do you do when you have writers block and how often do you get it?
I have listened to a lot of advice from people and read about it online, but nothing seems to work.
How do you guys push through?

Bashooku

@wifeofthewarlord, the best advice I can offer, which was offered to me, is to write. Don't be afraid of writing badly. Nobody has to read what you don't want them to read. Be prepared to write a whole lot of garbage, but keep those creative juices flowing. Not all of it will be bad and there will likely be a lot of great ideas you can keep and brush up. It's easier to keep moving than to get moving, even if it's little by little. Even Picasso had a notebook with a ton of "bad" doodles, but, after repeated practice, even your "bad doodles" will start to look like something worth framing.

What is a trope that you guys hate from the depths of your heart or a genre you avoid reading?

I honestly say that I will give anything a chance and believe anything can be done well, what do you think?

Bashooku

@wifeofthewarlord, absolutely. I'm more of a Star Trek and Doctor Who kind of guy, even though I write fantasy. lol. I guess that I'm more partial to the ancient fantasy/myths than to contemporary retellings. That being said, yes, I'm my own biggest critic as I write my own contemporary retelling of the ancient myths. It's a love/hate relationship. lol

@Bashooku I didnt like the movie, but the show for me was everything :) But opinions can differ

Bashooku

@wifeofthewarlord, the movie is a cult classic. The show was a bit too teenaged drama even for my teenaged self. I would put Charmed above Buffy in fantasy and I don't even like Charmed. lol

I have genuine question for all of my fellow writers and readers!
What got you into writing, was it a book you have read or did something else inspire you?
And readers what was the book that got you into it?

I am not that active, but I truly want to know.
Feel free to comment, bcs I have noticed from listening to ppl in circle that we have a similar origin story ♡☆

Spartan_sirius

Ha! I'm not proud of my beginning . I started out reading really horrible bad boy good girl books. Like loads of it.

@Nevets_Anazus literature is a craft, if anyone could write well wouldn't we all be praised as Tolkien, Dostevski....?
But then we also have to look at what people are reading, some genres don't get as much recognition as they should! So working to build our stories and introducing new things to readers is an important thing as well. I am saying this bcs your story is quite unique and deserves a lot of praise :)

@wifeofthewarlord thank you! I usually base my stories around either the corner stone of: my protagonist, my antagonist or a theme/symbolism i want to touch upon in my stories!

Then comes the research phase in actually making everything string along and work well together! I want to create a story in the same form a woodsman would craft with woodwork :). I see literature as a craft!

Guys I have created something special as I am working on the new chapters! I made a map of Pentilia. While I am working on the new chapters I will be updating the chapter with the map with some information on all of the Dukes and their families, on all the towns and villages as well as the whole country itself. :))
