@Katelyn0427 I see your story only has two chapters — you’re just getting started! Readers will come with time, commitment, and consistency (and a lot of them won’t start a story until it’s complete.) A good way to get some traction in the meantime is to read stories that are similar to yours. If you vote and leave relevant comments about the plot (not self-promo), there’s a good chance the writer will check out your profile. Sometimes other readers will see these comments and check out your work too.

I just started reading your story and so far I am loving it! I wish more people read my story
It’s a 50k kind of day :’)
This time last year, I had less than 3k reads, and that felt like a huge milestone to cross. So did 1k, and 500, and even just 50.
No matter how big the number gets, it always feels so special to know that these characters have resonated with someone other than me and my daydreaming brain.

@LVann26 I’m terrible with actors and movies, so I had no idea who the Reel man was (other than the fact that I vaguely recognized him). Thanks for connecting the dots hahaha And soft spots… yeah. I think we all know that they exist, but not how they work. Kinda freaky lol
@wildfirehoney I'm adding that song to check out later. That reel was amazing (Cillian Murphy so of course) and so accurate. And I freaked out with my first born when I saw her soft spot pulsing. It was definitely one of those things that no one warned me about when I felt like they should have!

I just published Ch 45, along with a Final Author's Note, which means The Men Next Door is officially ✨ complete ✨
If you've been here since the beginning, I'm not sure whether to say 'thank you' or 'sorry' hahaha. This was the first novel-length story I've ever written, clocking in at around 100k words, and I've learned a lot along the way.
Like... a lot.
And I'm very grateful I got to do it with you by my side.
I have plenty of other characters living in my mind, so I might be back as a writer in the future. But for now, I'm excited to bundle up and become a reader again.

@wildfirehoney Ooh, I can't read the last page. I don't wanna know the ending, I just wanna get a vague feel for the story somewhere a few chapters in or around the middle haha. I like to guess too much to allow myself to look too far ahead! But I can see why your dad and others would check the beginning and the end
