oof so i’ve definitely gotten drunk the past two nights and i managed to delete the new chapter on saturday and i have to rewrite it so the new chapter of ordinary will be up tomorrow which is a little off schedule but i’d rather have a chapter that is edited by sober me 

did anyone have after added to their library randomly?? It’s been in my archives forever and randomly showed up today, the same day the trailer came out 

wattpad can catch these hands over this new logo 

okay my goal is to update ordinary every saturday night unless there’s something crazy happening 

also letters to him finally hit 2k wow my heart 

i’m going to update ordinary either tonight or tomorrow night— it really just fiends in how much writing/editing I can get done tonight with my my migraine ):

hey guys so, if you have ordinary added to ur library you’ll get a notification that I updated the chapter “cast.” 
          this is because as much as i would love my character lennon to be kenyan as she originally was, I don’t feel like a story that takes place in the 70s is the right place for it. 
          this is because there was a large amount of racism still happening in the 70s and the effects of malcom x and martin luther king jr’s lives, activism, and assassinations were very current and raw. it doesn’t feel right to me to leave those out of a story where the main character is african american.  it also doesn’t feel right for me, as a white woman, to try and portray it in a way that is accurate and does it justice, and as racism isn’t something i experience on the daily and, it was also a lot different from the racism there is today so i don’t have a large amount of resources i could use for research. 
          
          after ordinary gets started and/or is finished, i’m going to use the woman (Cynthia Nyongesa) who i originally had cast in ordinary as the physical basis for a new book character in the modern day. this way, if i do chose to add in anything pertaining to racism, i can do it much more accurately as there are many more stories and resources from the present time I can use as a basis (thx internet). 
          
          Please respect this decision as I’ve put a lot of thought into and believe it’s what’s best for me as a writer. ❤️
