My new novel, Himalayan Quest, begins. 1 chapter daily on Wattpad:
          The Nepal Himalayas in 1984 offer challenges for inner and external quests with a Mexican-American man looking to replace his family and a Hawaiian woman whose lover hides secrets from her.  Four years ago, Adam's family and fiance died. He and his friend, Kailani, once achieved athletic stardom, injuries, then lost dreams. As they face different challenges in Nepal, they support each other through difficulties, learning much about themselves, different cultures, and life.

65-Makena's Epilogue. I was so bummed when Covid hit us and my spring trek in Spain was canceled.  So I got out my laptop and started outlining ideas for this story. I enjoyed writing it and reliving many of the wonderful memories from my time in that delightful country. Hope you all can journey there yourselves one day. Aloha from Maui and buena suerte. -Bill

64-Jordan's Journal. Spain is the European Union's second-largest country, had its second-lowest unemployment rate before the pandemic, and is home to the second most widely spoken language in the world. It 's also the site of the world's first and most widely sold novel, Cervante"s Don Quixote.

63-Family. For those of us who are writers and want to include something that looks like an actual American phone number in a story the 555 prefix is reserved for fictional US telephone numbers.

62-Miracle. To become a Catholic saint, someone like Santiago must have lived in service to God, lived a life of heroic virtue, and be connected to verified miracles. In St. James' life, one such miracle was in having saved a Roman soldier from the sea, whose body was covered with scallop shells, hence the origin of that symbol related to the Camino de Santiago.

61-Cape Death. Sailors navigated in fear when they rode their ships near here.
          So many shipwrecks near rocky shore that all worried they'd be one more.
          As if their captains used crystal meth, too many died by Spain's Cape Death.

60-End of the Earth. Imagine what it was like, that for hundreds of years people stood on this one spot in Spain, believing they had reached the limit of land on the planet. No one knew otherwise until centuries later.

59-Finals in Fisterra. Great fortune for Spain, that its only appearance in the finals of soccer's World Cup finals ended with a victory! Aloha, -Bill
