I should know enough about myself by now to realize nothing I write stays simple/happy/innocent for long. Chapter four of 'Mirror, Fox, Key' and we're already running for our lives. These chapters are a lot shorter than usual, but I kinda like the little bursts of scenes. I think I might have enough up by now to participate in a book club or two -- anyone have recommendations?

The draft beginning of a new story is finally posted! 'Mirror, Fox, Key' follows a robot child as she travels through the woods between towns and villages, selling hot chocolate and getting mixed up in the lives of the strange people she meets. Knowing me there'll probably be a huge world-ending plot simmering in the background of this otherwise innocent premise, but for now I'm just happy to write something slow and gentle and slightly weird.

I've been MIA forever! Hello! I took an unannounced hiatus to recharge and play games after a creative crash, and I'm still very slowly getting back to reading and writing.

With that said, I think Stolen Suns is over and abandoned. To be honest I attempted to jam at least 3 different old story ideas into this one -- but the longer I wrote it, the more I realized it was going to be convoluted, muddy, horrifically long and impossible to follow. So, conclusion: pick one of those simpler inspiration stories and stick to it.

What comes next will probably look like a remixed version of Stolen Suns, but with one main character and a single linear plot. It doesn't have a name yet, but probably soon!

@KadeKessler Aaaa I'm honored thank you!! Right back at ya! Just waiting for that inspiration strike and we're off! xD

You’re an amazing writer and Stolen Suns is still one of the best stories I’ve read on here. Whatever direction you go next I’m sure it will be just as enjoyable!

Just an update: Stolen Suns isn't dead! I have a rewritten first chapter (not posted) that makes me happy and I'm debating whether to just go for it and rewrite everything so far. 20 chapters is less daunting than waiting for the end!

Across the board, major edits are done on Stolen Suns. Most significantly, Kieran was never in jail and Briony never had hallucinations. More of Alexis' backstory is told in the most recent chapter, whose title has also changed. I also edited all of Alexis' chapters to be more consistent with the character, and I think I'm happy enough now with the state of things that I can charge ahead!

Every day from now until probably November I'll be posting a new chapter of Glass Compass:
          https://www.wattpad.com/story/236688202-glass-compass

This is an AU/retelling of the Detroit: Become Human game that still follows the general android revolution concept but is set in a more magic- and nature-friendly setting. A lot of the characters are completely reimagined: especially Kara, whose role as the first sapient android is now of mythical importance.

The 200k-word adventure was finished sometime last year and posted on AO3, and is still one of the best and craziest writing experiences I've had so far. It's also 95+ chapters, so it's going to be 3 months before I'm done posting!

I just missed this story so much I wanted to breathe a little new life into it here, where I'm spending a lot more of my time.
