Hi! I am making a middle grade book about a Nepali girl named Nisarah! In this book, she navigates through her feelings and all the problems she get as she goes through seventh grade. This book will be perfect for you if you love easy going books that take place in school. The book is long but I can assure you that most chapters are short. I will be forever grateful if you check out my book and give me some support to keep me going! It is okay if you aren't interested but then again I would appreciate it if you give this story a try.

I’ve got a new book on the way .

It’s in a dystopianish society where the people born with the “Glow” are sent to institutions. But think like mid-1900s mental institutions.

Our protagonist, Orealia, is apart of some of the kids with the most Glow but some stuff is beginning to change.

Check it out if you want! I’m hoping to release chapter 1 in 2-3 days time.

(Did I steal the “Glow” from Stephen King’s “Shine”? Yes. Now fuck off.)

I just remembered this from like years ago. If you haven’t read my “autobiography” thing, I have a Convergence Insufficiency (depth perception issues). When I was in middle school there was one time a girl said to me, “do your parents abuse you?” Naturally, I was like, “…no…” and she was like, “well does SOMEONE hit you?” And I was like “…no…why…” she was like “you always flinch so bad.” And I said “well yeah, cause I can’t see how close things are to my face so I flinch” she then goes to fake smack me. She actually hit me. (I don’t why I felt like sharing this but I did)

Well, now when someone asks if someone hits you, you can say her name XD

Out of curiosity, what are the chances you would read a book that just immediately threw you into action. Like in the middle of a battle action…no particular reason….

That can be very exciting and draw you into the story! The general advice is to open on action.

Something grand like a battle scene is good because you get the idea right away of what a character believes in and is willing to die for, how they cope under threat!

But it has to be done right, of course. As with any opening the sooner you can get the reader invested in the characters the better otherwise you won't care if they die or not.

Of course there are some famous authors who misuse their ability to make you care by spending the whole first chapter telling you everything about a character and then kill them right away...

@wisesoul13 DO IT!! I'm a huge fan of straight to the action-type stories - it always seems more interesting!

Does anyone else use the Shakespeare Method? Where they start in the middle, do the end, and then the beginning. It’s like so hard on Wattpad because you want to post some of the beginning because you want to interest people and you feel you haven’t updated but it’s because you just finished the final chapter of the book and your not even on Chapter 4 yet.
