hello everyone.
i took a break from writing black sorrow because my interest in alien stage took a big hit back in june (which shows, having re-read chapter 10). i've come to realize that while i will always love the series and there's a special part in my mind and heart for it forever, i've come to also respect that the way i view the characters (as a fic writer, specifically) incredibly differentiates from the canon approaches that they've been given in alnst.
so, i took a break from black sorrow. i know its premise (telepathic till) is as outlandish as it can come, i wanted to take the time to really extend care to the characters as i write them in MY story. i believe that they've really changed from their true canon selves, and so i suppose that this is my formal announcement that chapter eleven onwards will probably be more "ooc" / out of character for the entire cast if you're expecting canon depictions.
also, i'm slowly pulling till out of the cherry magic! box. i love telepathy as a writing concept and i want to expand it for him as a narrative device (i think his mindreading is a really good flavoring for single narrative, even if i have dwelled on luka and mizi's perspectives a bit!)
tl;dr: the black sorrow cast is less alien stagey and more.. rewritten to fit black sorrow's universe. you could argue they're ocs, i guess, with similar names? i don't know. i'm terrible at explaining things. i just hope you all enjoy the direction the rest of black sorrow's story takes, and i apologize for how long it takes me between each chapter. <3
finally, i hope everyone survived witch, addicted, scars, and the 3rd anniversary remixes! scars is the upcoming chapter eleven's point of inspiration.
