Iracebeth had not expected anyone else to be awake at this hour. The campus pathways were nearly empty, washed silver beneath the streetlights as she wandered back from the library with a book tucked beneath her arm.
          
          Which was why spotting someone else lingering near the edge of campus immediately caught her attention.
          
          Her crimson eyes narrowed slightly as she slowed her steps.
          
          “…You know,” she called out calmly, “most people with self-preservation instincts are asleep by now.”
          
          A faint pause followed as her gaze drifted curiously over the stranger.
          
          “So now I am wondering which one of us is making the worse decision being out here.”

            you are just dramatic.  [she mumbles through her muffin,  but she knows her sister is right and hates that she is.  her pout is back on her lips,  and with a loud sigh,  kaia throws herself onto her bed,  looking up at nova.  ]  i’m just  …  not too excited about going to auradon prep.  it’s not exactly our cup of tea,  y’know.
            
            *     either they’re transferring orrr summer just ended idk we haven’t figured out lore lol

 ⠀⠀⠀ [nova opens her mouth to say something, thinks about it, and then closes her mouth again. with a sigh, she rests both palms on her (barely) older sister’s bed to lean against it.]  she is dramatic, but you also had that pouty look on your face before i walked in here. so, unless you want to tell me that i’m also just dramatic, /please/ tell me what’s wrong. i hate it when you’re upset, because then you’re not really fun to be around.. not trying to offend you, kai. i know that i’m not exactly fun to be around either.

            okay,  we both know momma  / is /  dramatic  — where do you think we get it from.  [  kaia takes a big bite of the muffin,  humming in delight.  she nods,  glancing between the muffin and nova,  letting her know they great.  ]  i think so too,  but she’s probably listening in from the other room if she knows you came to figure out what’s wrong.
