@worldwalkerdj  During the original trilogy she was a Flat Character, content with living in Magneto’s shadow, fated to lose all her happiness, her innocence, and become a bitter and hated person, without even her powers as a cold comfort when all is said and done. In her youth, Mystique was provided for by an emotionally neglectful, insensitive, womanizing Charles Xavier. She was the first mutant he met and he was amazed that there are other mutants in the world; however, when they're adults he prefers her to stay looking human and, when asked flat-out, clearly shows he doesn't regard her true form as attractive. And saddled with a Love Interest who didn’t deserve her: Hank McCoy. Rather than mock his large feet, Mystique is impressed by Beast’s reflexes and stands up for him, but Hank outright says that he finds Mystique's human form attractive but not her true form. And when the character was given her own agency, becoming a mutant protector who doesn’t adhere to Charles Xavier’s Suicidal Pacifism but rejects Magneto’s warmongering, they made her an X-Men and KILLED her. It would have been better for Mystique personally to leave Charles, Hank, and Magneto in order to find herself and live life on her own terms.

@worldwalkerdj  Mystique’s true color scheme is fine. But I can’t accept her being hideously deformed like she is in the Comics, Films, and Wolverine 2026 video game.
            
            In the cartoons, she is a tolerable Plain Jane.

            She was never among Marvel Comics top 10 beauties. She’s no Emma Frost. She’s not Natalia Romanova who Goddess Enchantress Amora & Hercules find beautiful. She’s not Storm who everyone wants. She’s not Jean Grey, Mary Jane Watson, or Felicia Hardy who are all considered the World’s Most Beautiful. And she isn’t She-Hulk who genuinely preferred over Jennifer Walters.
            
            But Barbie Doll Anatomy/Monster Modesty; deformed eyes; harsh scales over her face and entire body; hair that’s bald looking UTTERLY DISGUSTS ME. And I know people who agree with me.

@worldwalkerdj But the problem is Chris Claremont, Brian K. Vaughan, Sean McKeever, Kieron Gillen, Seanan McGuire and Declan Shalvey are terrible terrible writers who happen to get paid WELL.

@FlawlessBlackberry  I always believe the best version of a character should be considered the real one, unless it changes them too much to be recognizable. The versions of Mystique that make her do the bad stuff but have more human motivations and remorse for it are the real Mystique because they are the only versions people can engage with when any real empathy. If she is just pure evil, she might be liked for being a scary villain, but that's all there is to her. Most of her versions have at least some humanity left...and there's a lot about the oldest X-men stories that I don't really like and it got adjusted later as they learned to balance the characters more. It's never been a perfect universe. What I like about the X-men is them being flawed works for them. They aren't trying to be superheroes usually, they are trying to defend other mutants and they have moral struggles based around that. Which is a unique thing for superhero comics. But that also means a pure evil villain would be out of place in their universe for the most part because they can't add any further moral questioning to the story. Mystique having some good qualities even in her warped mind gives more conflict than her being evil and emotionless does. Apocalypse is one of the only truly sociopathic villains and his whole thing is that he's not even really human anymore thanks to his Lazarus chamber and enhanced abilities. I've studied Mystique's comic run and no one can ever really decide how to use her character. I think it's abused because her powers make it so easy to change how she acts that even the writes don't care about any consistency. Which is a sadly ironic problem for her character. I tried to balance that in my version, and some fans try to make her completely nice and misunderstood, or completely heartless. The comics can support either because Marvel can't make up their minds what she is... Again, the irony is striking.

@heyimaxe Depends on which series you want to  
            I  chronological order, the Rwby books 1 and 2 are first, then the Mha Mystery from another world books (the fantasy au is not related to the same continnuity), the Naruto series is set in the same time period as the mha timeline. 
            The Naruto books in order are "New Way of Ninja", "Way Into Mist Village", "Way Into Stone Village ", "Way into Cloud Village", and coming soon, the finale "Zenith of Cloud Village".
            Worldcrossed is not finished but it's a prequel to the other books.
