Me: Hmmmm, the DM told me I should create a character similar to myself for my first time playing....

(Makes a character who's 69 years old, has a survival bunker, and wields a ukelele as her weapon)

          Me: Perfect!

@Kracka13 Some friends at college have offered to take me under their wing. I really am *that* Software Engineering geek now. My heroine's cycle is complete.

Got to see a set where Mysterious Benedict Society is filming today.

          I am extremely happy.

(I didn't see any of the actors and nothing was set up, but their filming in a few days, but it still counts!)

@writebeforemidnight I didn't either, it's awesome! No, it's in California, family vacation. I WISH they were filming in Idaho.

Watching all these people who were seniors when I was a freshman come off their missions and get married to each other feels like a real Circle of Life moment.

It also makes me feel like I'm way too young for this adulting thing.

@writebeforemidnight CONGRATS! I know! Do you ever stop feeling too old and too young after turning 18?

@writebeforemidnight mood, my younger brother just opened his mission call (to Perú!!) and while I'm super excited for him I'm also like "wait that means I'm how old now?"

If you have ever read Shakespeare's play Hamlet and wondered what the young Danish prince may have had for a birthday cake (and the answer to that question is almost definitely NO), then may I present the kagemand/kagekone.

It's a cake made in the shape of a boy (kagemand) or girl (kagekone). When cuttung the cake, the parent must first cut off the head. While they are doing so, all of the children are instructed to scream.

THIS IS WHY HAMLET WAS THE WAY THAT HE WAS. Not the fratricide or the breakup or even the threat of invasion- it was the kagemand.

I'm okay with Percy Jackson being blonde, but only because it's Walker Scobell.

@The1AndOnlyBlue True, but I don't know if they will. Riordan talked about how they cared more about if the actors were right for the roles talent and personality-wise than they did their appearance.

Even so, I really REALLY hope they cast Logan Lerman as Posiedan, because that would be so dang perfect.
