Hi I go by the pen name Vidhya Raam, an Indian author who writes stories in English but not the kind of English you'll find in textbooks or taught in grammar schools. My language is everyday, emotional, a little raw, a little local. Somewhere in between a diary entry and a quiet conversation between friends. You'll find Indian words, Indian references, and Indian heartbeats in every page-because that's who I am, and that's the world I write from.
Most of my stories revolve around romance, but not just the dramatic, picture-perfect kind. I try to write the softer parts too-the silences, the awkward pauses, the small heartbreaks, the slow healing. Love that builds over chai, misunderstandings, shared meals, childhood memories, or even in the middle of a stormy night.

My characters are real. They cry, they fight, they freeze, they sometimes laugh at the wrong time. They make mistakes. They come from towns, from cities, from places in between. You might even see someone like yourself in them. I'm not aiming for perfect grammar. I'm not trying to be a literary giant. I just want to tell stories that feel true. If you've ever loved someone and didn't know how to say it, or if you've ever sat by a window during the rain and felt something heavy in your chest-you'll probably find a little piece of your own story in mine.
