Who arst I, I ask myself often
And whence I know, I know,
I need know nothin’ more
I need say nothin’ more
Well, I wrote my first quarter-novella when I was a kid. Those were the days when we played in the CIA – KGB cold war turf. And so inspired I was, a boy, whole of 13 years, that I spent an entire day scribbling notes till my friends came calling for an evening game of soccer.
In those couple of hours, I must have written @ 5,000 words. The story was about Sekakova, a Russian agent, landing in USA and doing stuff that a spy usually did during those times.
Books take us on adventures, lead us afar; oft we live vicariously through the books we read. It’s true. For I was only a boy in a remote Indian town penning whatever it was that I was penning.
Now many a sun-sets (and a few strands of grey hair) later, I sit in Mumbai. Have traveled to a few parts of the world. Have written blogs and short-stories which have been well received. The reading bit has taken a pause and writing bit has taken a foreground.
One of my short stories – Wavering Bounds – has been published in a book ‘Inner Voices’, Mirage Publications, India, as one of the winners of a worldwide short story contest held in 2008.
I’ve also been published at Rediff.com, diary section.
I’m a blogger at a private blog, and a poet (well, self-acclaimed). And if you happen to catch me at the right moment, you’ll find me singing and strumming to my songs.
Look forward to connecting with you!
And may you read happily ever after!
