I’m leaving Wattpad.
It’s frustrating that I have to, and I would’ve loved to stay here on Wattpad, but I don’t trust it. Especially because they chose not to explain which policies I “violated” specifically.
I appealed twice.
The first was me asking them to just email my work, including my drafts where I plotted future chapters, because I desperately wanted them back.
The second appeal was me pointing out each policy that I maintained, and asking for an explanation for my book being taken down. I told them I would understand if they did not want me to re-upload the book if that was their final decision, but I just wanted my drafts back. I had some really great ideas written down. However, I have not gotten any responses since.
I started to think maybe it was my book cover but that could’ve been a simple fix if I had been told to remove it. Many other stories have far more suggestive covers. Then I remembered other authors have changed their covers for the same reason but it still got taken down.
If you're going to remove an author's book, it would make sense to explain what the specific reasoning is. It's disrespectful to the very people who make the damn app run.
All that to say, Wattpad isn't worth the hassle. I’ll be moving all my work to Inkitt. Wattpad doesn’t seem to give a damn about the writers on here and I refuse to continue or keep any of my work here so they can benefit from it in any way.
