the most important thing to being a good ally of any minority group is to acknowledge that you don’t and never will understand what it is like to be in that group, to try and support someone by saying you understand their experience is untrue and false ally-ship. please use your privilege for good, because that will make a difference, trying to understand something completely that you will never experience first-hand is a waste of time and ignorant in some situations. thanks for reading this lil rant thing, bye!

the hyper-fetishisation and sexualisation of mlm on social media - especially within fandoms - is the most normalised thing ever, having a pairing you think could have a nice relationship with that happens to be between two men is understandable, but being delusional and shipping things just for mlm/gay content is fetishisation. many people constantly say things in comments of shipfics such as ‘here for the gay’ etc and that’s so very harmful to say as someone who isn’t say, especially when they use the term gay incorrectly: gay (in terms of sexuality) means a non-woman who feels non-platonic (sexual and/or romantic) attraction to other non-men. gay does not mean homosexual, and gay is not something for you to constantly sexualise with top/bottom smutfics between ridiculous and toxic parings
