just finished TMY, pls take responsibility for all the emotional instability you caused
JK JK THANK YOU SM FOR WRITING IT! you have no idea how big of a reading + writing slump this book has saved me from. My chest was legit hurting through most of the chapters, and I loved all the bigger thoughts on growing up and dealing with the past and the fleeting but unforgettable nature of youth, but also the smaller moments between Gu Xiao and Lan Yuning, the strawberry milk and the pushing each other to be better and the SOFT SOFT SCENES WHERE THEY ARE EACH OTHER’S COMFORT
+ your writing is so, so pretty and REAL. I found your book at a time when I just wasn’t finding a book that I could stick with because something was wrong with my head and the writing never moved me, but with TMY, I was hooked by your style from the very beginning. Your writing style is honestly my favourite right now. It felt like I was reading a manga and not a book, it was so lovely.
Gu Xiao and Lan Yuning are so memorable as characters! I couldn’t help admiring Gu Xiao, the way he treated the people around him and the way he learnt from his experiences—and Lan Yuning gave me so much joy with how he expressed his affections quietly but loved so deeply, he’s my BABYYY *cries*
I’ll probably be embarrassed in a few weeks if I think about the comments I left (and this huge message) xD, but I just needed you to know how much TMY touched me and how I’ll be carrying it with me wherever I go. You’re one of my favourite writers now, thank you for bringing this story to life <3
