Supp guys!
I'm writing a gothic story for my end of year english assessment so I was wondering if anyone could could read it and give some feedback!
Please don’t repost or rewrite this story idea, just feedback is fine!
Here goes...
The night I vanished from the radar, the silence began to howl.
It was a bleak, autumn day. The extending branches of towering pines were tangled in a clutch, their slate leaves swaying even though there was no breeze.
Weren't leaves supposed to be purple?
Slithers of silver moonlight escaped through the canopy of conifers, casting strange shadows on the floor. A heavy blanket of fog descended with a sickly-sweet smell, luring unfortunate victims into their deadly embrace.
Is that smell – coffee?
The roots of ancient trees shuffled under my feet, arranging and rearranging themselves desperately in warning. My footsteps echoed on the eerily silent undergrowth, each step more deafening in the stillness.
Why are there no birds slithering?
A dark droplet of water landed on my hand before shattering into millions of tiny droplets, searing hot against my skin. I stumbled back, grating my back against the rough bark of a tree.
Any feedback is appreciated!
