The storyline, the way I wanted the characters and the story to end, I needed something shocking and the death of a main character would directly affect the others. I decided Hanna because I knew it was a loved character, not only in the story but in the show and also I feel like she was one that I developed a lot so she would be really missed and people wouldn't forget. It kind of makes the group separate but Emily and Alison keep it together and get through it, kind of showing how real their relationship is.
