I used to think I was just a child born from two parents, no coincidence, that's just life. But if you think about it, your grandparents had to be there for you to be here at this very moment, and their parents too and thus their grandparents too et cetera. Humans evolved about two hundred thousand years ago. Let's say the average woman got her child around the age of twenty, (people did not live to be very old back then) that's already twenty thousand generations! And every generation, your ancestors double. Twenty thousand to power of two makes a very rough estimate of about FOUR HUNDRED MILLION ANCESTORS, and that's only the human part! If any of my millions, or billions, TRILLIONS of ancestors wouldn't have had a child around the time they did, would that have meant I wouldn't be here at this exact moment? One single woman already carries two million eggs! Just think about it, what are the chances of everything going exactly the way they did? Quite mindblowing to me..

@ Mine-lovely-books I don't know how or why I thought of this, but it's kind of freaking me out. The odds are in our favour, it seems. :D
