@xocelenedrafts - Hey author! I just finished reading Finish Line and WOW—what a ride! I’m so glad you didn’t stop at the seventh movie and decided to go full throttle into the eighth. So many Brian O’Conner fanfics tap out early, but you said, “Nope, we’re keeping our foot on the gas,” and honestly? Iconic. And you did not disappoint.
Valentina completely stole my heart. The first time I ever saw the actress who inspired her was in the telenovela Amores Verdaderos, so seeing her here felt like a dramatic comeback—cue theme music and slow-motion hair flips. If I had to choose a tree to represent her, she’d definitely be an oak—strong, grounded, loyal, and impossible to knock down no matter how chaotic life (or the plot) gets. Her attitude, her love for family and friends, the way she carries herself—you wrote her so beautifully and thoughtfully that she felt real. I almost tried to follow her on Instagram.
And those plot twists?? Ohhhh my gosh. One minute I’m laughing like a gremlin, the next I’m gasping, then suddenly I’m crying over a character’s death like I personally signed the condolence book. But the biggest shocker—finding out Jack Toretto is Valentina’s father. I had to physically pause. Because that means Dom and Mia are technically her aunt and uncle, which is hilarious considering they all call each other siblings. I would pay GOOD MONEY to watch the characters joke about that at the next Fast & Furious barbecue.
And that deal that went down in the last season?? I was stressed, sweating, emotionally pacing, reconsidering everyone’s decisions—what a turning point. But I’m so glad it all worked out in the end because my blood pressure needed closure.
