How are you doing? I noticed that "After the Flames" and Democracy Comes to Copper-9" haven't been updated in a while, so I wanted to check to be sure.

Also, I noticed that what would count as "Chapter 14" of the latter story, where Jason and Martin meet for the first time, seems to be missing from the story, on this site and on AO3. Do you know why that is?

@xxtyjuxx Oh, okay. I guess I didn't notice that it was being reworked as first, or at least, I can't tell which chapters have been reworked and which ones haven't

@N3xwatts Everything is good doing a full rework on the stories; they are still being updated, just in a different way.

MEKHANE/WAN The Broken God (also known as MEKHANE1/“Mekan”/Machine God, WAN, Fuxi, Serpent Father, Eternal Web, Bronze God, Steel God, Father of Machines, Hakhama2, Metatron3, Hephaestu4, Machine Goddess, Sophia5, Perfect God, Original God) is a supreme being worshipped by the Church of the Broken God. In the Foundation universe, he is the celestial being who governs machinery and electronics, weaving order and laws above the Abyss. He is said to have forged every physical law, enabling all things to function. Believers believe his existence predates the emergence of life on Earth. He taught humanity logic and reason, and is the source of endless wisdom and knowledge. In many settings, he is equipped with a Machine God Hammer as his weapon, but in any case, he is now broken.

The earliest conception of the Church of the Broken God was proposed by Dr. Gears. This church is primarily divided into three factions. The Gear Orthodoxy and the Broken Church believe the Broken God is a large machine, related to SCP-882 "A Machine/Heart of God," and refer to it as Mekhane. The Maxwell Church, on the other hand, sees the Broken God as a cyberpunk deity—a Wi-Fi network, a collective signal, a faster-than-light network spanning the multiverse, which they call a WAN. The Church of the Broken God has been attempting to restore God to wholeness, believing that collecting all the fragments will allow God to be reconstructed, granting divinity to all and leading the world to a perfect technological utopia. A fourth major faction appearing in the Chinese branch's conception—the Sanctuary of Spirits—believes that the shattering of God created the universe and all things. To approach God's state, one must first shatter into multiple consciousnesses, and then countless believers must unite to form a Gestalt, as one of its leaders, Loong, did.

There are many legends about why God was shattered, the most complete, well-known, and widely accepted being: Initially, the Machine God taught
