daily hot take part dos: yearning shouldn't be romanticized in books/media in general. yearning is a burning feeling of knowing you want something that you can't have, the push-and-pull feeling of the what if moments and convincing yourself that they'll feel the same about you. it's not a good feeling, and shouldn't be romanticized
does anyone want dts on my 90’s doomed yaoi fic with a slice of conjuring vibes
daily hot take: having a celebrity crush in a relationship isn’t cheating. liking a edit of an attractive celebrity isn’t cheating. having a best friend of the opposite gender isn’t cheating. being poly is not “cheating with extra steps”.
some of y’all are not ready to be in relationships and it shows heavily
@godsmaniac oh no absolutely! i agree with all of this because if you’re obsessing over someone, like emotionally attaching yourself to them then you probably don’t really like the person and are just using them as a placeholder.
[ @yaoishakespeare ] i have honestly agreed to most of your hot takes , but i'd like to give my point on this (don't slime me for this , because its my own perspective --- in a relationship , having a celebrity crush isn't inherently cheating, for what it's prominently a harmless fantasy about someone unattainable, but it can become problematic if it involves emotional infidelity or obsessive behavior --- or it makes your partner feel disrespected or inadequate, turning into a form of emotional betrayal. the key is the intent and action : fantasizing is pretty much okay, but if one is emotionally investing in the celebrity or neglecting their real relationship due to the crush, it crosses the line. i agree with all your other points though.
