[  a quiet hum sounds from her in response to his comment. as a royal herself, she knew the ins and outs of being apart of their crowd. the wall would eventually come down but she wouldn’t expose the truth to him just yet. lucia always was one to watch as thing unfold for themselves— unwarranted force never got anyone anywhere. as the pair of footsteps made their way to the courtyard, she took in the information he gave her.  ]   you do have a point i suppose. His hand instinctively brushed against the hilt of his sword, more out of habit than necessity*  ⠀      ⠀ I hate to disappoint you, princess, but I don't take kindly to staying in anyone's shadow. if anything— I'd say you and I are standing on equal ground here—like it or not. ⠀      ⠀ *his piercing blue eyes flicked briefly to the glowing Viridian Shard on his uniform, then back to her, as if daring her to argue.*
            .. don't get me wrong ,, I'm not here to test you ⠀      ⠀  *he added, his voice dropping slightly, his tone growing more  serious* ⠀      ⠀ I’ve read the reports. I know what you’re capable of. but let’s not pretend you’re the only one with something to prove out there. whether you like it or not, we’re a team now, and that means watching each other’s backs—yours included. ⠀      ⠀ *gio stepped back slightly, crossing his arms as his smirk returned, though softer this time.* ⠀      ⠀ but hey ,, if you’re determined to outshine me, by all means, go ahead. I’ll be more than happy to step aside... once you’ve earned it. *His tone was playful again, but there was a sincerity beneath his words—a subtle promise of respect if she proved herself, and the willingness to offer his own in return.He tilted his head, waiting for her reply, the faintest flicker of amusement lingering in his eyes.* ⠀      ⠀ so ,, princess,, how about we see how /bright/ you can shine ?

@charmith  ⠀      ⠀ *as much as the specialist wanted to scoff ,, he remained compliant towards the princess and gave her a subtle nod* if you must know ,, we have also been paired with the princess of flamoria alongside the prince of falcrion . surely the three of you will get along together given by your similar statuses. *giovanni chewed on his lower lip ,, preventing himself from chuckling,, ultimately failing*  ⠀      ⠀ .. well then ,, surely if we encounter an ogre i expect /you/ to be the first act out initially. if you feel as if you are capable of handling yourself ,, surely you can do the same with our group .    *he challenged with a teasing tone in his voice. perhaps she wasn’t in the friendliest mood at the moment ,, but perhaps a little competitive wager would brighten the tension between the two*   ⠀      unless you are just being entirely full of yourself to take up the challenge that is .
