I'm sorry but I feel beyond upset at Wattpad. I understand that their coin system is a way to empower their writers. However, with this system Wattpad is only "empowering" the writers who have millions of reads on their books, which makes it unfair to writers like me who enjoy writing and posting their stories but do not get any type of funding as a result. As a reader, I want to support those writers who are well off with millions of reads, but I refuse to pay for this coin system. During my five years on Wattpad, I embraced this environment where writers have the freedom to share their stories and readers can freely enjoy them, without any expenses for that matter. I am sure other readers have the same concerns expressed in this note and I really hope Wattpad can make a change extremely soon. There are books that I want to support and finish reading, but not this way. I recommend bringing the advertisement system back, because I can predict that long-time users of Wattpad, including myself, will decrease their usage of this platform.
