I was born in Seattle in 2003. Even though I am an American by birth, I am also a Taiwanese-America by my origin. Both of my parents are Taiwanese. The reason why I was born in the United States of America was because my parents wanted to give me a better environment for growing up. So, I stayed there for 3.5 years according to my mother. At the age of 4, my parents decided to move back to Taiwan, and so I returned with them.

After I came back, I went to KAS for pre-kindergarten for half a year and kindergarten for one year.Later, I enrolled in a Taiwanese elementary school. I made many friends there but there was one thing that I disliked--the numerous tests. I always felt very stressful because I had never learned those Chinese alphabets. This was till I was 11. Then I got transferred to KAS for Grade five studies.

At first, I felt really tired because I couldn't speak English very well and the English compositions were very hard. I had a rough time catching up. But I tried diligently to improve my English skills so I found myself getting better with the homework and studies gradually. Also, I made several friends from different countries in KAS. I thought it was very fun and interesting because I could get to know about different cultures.

Now, I am 12 and I think back my childhood, I think it was filled with great experiences and happy moments. I believe it was mainly because of my experiences of living in two different countries. From my childhood, I learned that it is important to have a better world vision and always be open-minded to different cultures. In addition, I learned how to adjust myself to various situations and environments so that when I grow up, I could take challenges and be brave when it comes to obstacles.
