@SusanKSaltos Actually I was told to read only the first few chapters as there were more 8 books to judge! And yes, the starting of the story is bit slow. I'm gonna read the whole story once I finish my exams. And surely will let you know. :) For now I'm adding your book in my reading list+library. 

@zankhana01 Thanks! Did you take any notes? Anything you think could be improved upon? I would love to get your opinion. I have been told by a couple of people that the beginning is a bit slow. However, I am not sure what to cut as a lot of it explains about Jake's powers, and what his life was like growing up, and why he wants to leave home, etc. Any suggestions? 
             Also, If you are interested in reading more of the story, book 2 is Hidden Paths and book 3 is Fork in the Road.
