You may have noticed that I took down most of my books. I made the decision after contemplating which path was the one that delivered the greatest positive impact. I have not taken these books to other platforms or any marketplaces.
My thought process at first was that I didn't want to leave only the good books up and have a curated page. That wouldn't be ideal for the mental health of other creators out there, and readers too when they see that my page only shows the pretty things. However, I've become aware that books like Turns Out He's Rich mispresented real illnesses like MPD, and that might be the cause of some harm, especially since that book is one of my best performers. And it doesn't help that the bulk of my early work was sloppily written, with chapters that are too short or endings that are too rushed.
So, I've consulted my trustworthy writer friends, and they told me that even if I take down the books I'm no longer proud of, I still don't come across as inauthentic. Also, my bibliography is clearly seen on my wall, and that speaks of a journey of progress instead of perfection.
That said, I might change the way I do things again since I am so indecisive. But I thought that this was a great way to deal with the success God has given me, and use these resources for good instead.
To the mission,
Zelly
