To those who’ve read Shattered Canvas, Renewed Palette,

          	First, let me say—I’m sorry.

This story was never meant to resemble anyone real. It was based on an AI chatbot I was experimenting with. The characters came from that world. Mitchel—the husband—was already named in the bot. The wife’s name ? Randomly chosen. The girlfriend’s name? Also pulled from the AI.

I know many of you were upset—especially with how Inara was portrayed. Yes, she seemed weak. Yes, she stayed longer than she should have. And you’re right. In real life, if your partner cheats, buys a house for their mistress, we wouldn’t just forgive and carry on. That’s not love. That’s destruction. I’m not here to defend that.

But here’s the thing... I’ve written countless alternate endings to this story. Each one dragged on, shaped by the broken logic of AI, and the chaos of emotions.
If you’ve ever played with AI bots, you’ll understand just how confusing, how infuriating, they can be when they mess up.

I also understand where you’re coming from. I work with people. I’ve spoken with individuals who have gone through betrayal, heartbreak, and the wreckage left behind by affairs. And yes, some cheaters do cheat again. But not all do.

I’ve seen couples on the verge of divorce because of a third party… choose to stay. Choose to grow and rebuild. Not because it was easy. But because something inside them still wanted to fight. So no, I don’t believe in blanket judgments. Not every story ends the same, every heart breaks the same way.

And if you’ve ever been in the place where you gave a second chance, only to be hurt again, I want you to know, you are not alone. Whatever your story, whatever your choice, please, make peace with it. Forgiveness is not weakness. It is strength. It is choosing your own peace, without degrading yourself. You are more than you think. And you deserve better.

          	With love,
          	Ryuu

@Tree_L I couldn’t agree more with you. I admit my weakness in building Inara’s character in this story, along with many flaws in the writing process and plot development, which have invited a lot of criticism and anger. I acknowledge that was my mistake.

@zygotee94 Forgiveness isn’t weakness, sure...but how you wrote the main female lead made her look exactly that. She started strong, but her character just crumbled with no real depth or growth. It wasn’t healing, it was settling. The husband’s actions were extreme...he lied, cheated, bought a house for another woman and somehow, she stays? With no proper resolution or self-respect shown?

Readers weren’t upset because of personal baggage. We were frustrated because the story didn’t make sense. Saying "AI chaos" or “forgiveness” doesn’t fix poor character writing. If multiple endings were written and scrapped because they “dragged on,” maybe that’s a sign the story needed more work...not less. It felt rushed, inconsistent, and honestly, the ending was a letdown.

Not every painful situation needs a happy ending. But it does need a believable one.
