Homophobia Hurts
(By Me)

I hold my girlfriend's hand as I walk into the bus.
People stare at me and her and start whispering to each other.
Their eyes are like guns.
Their words are the bullets.

Homophobia hurts

I'm at the beach and I take off my shirt, showcasing my new binder I got for my birthday.
Children look at me confused.
Their parents glare daggers at me.
The children are traps for prey.
The parents are predators.
I am the prey.

Transphobia hurts

I work at a local gas station.
That day I was with my boss as I was at the cash register.
My partner gives me a kiss on the cheek, handing me this cute transgender pin.
If only she wasn't the same sex as me.

My boss fires the gun.
The people around us set traps.
Their whispering stabs my sensitive soul.
Everyone's eyes throw daggers.
We became prey.

And it hurts.

Hi I'm Kai, I'm Genderfluid and bisexual. I used to have an account here but I lost the password for it. I'm gonna be writing poetry, I'm going to be writing my vents in those poems too. Because maybe my vents, maybe my stories, will help those in need.
