Todoroki says goodbye to his sister and heads for school, deciding to walk for once, his usual emotionless expression plastered on his face. While normal people would jump with excitement and smile at the warm spring air, Shoto remains expressionless on his way to school. He hasn't felt any kind of emotion since he was a small child. He has been conditioned not to. And so he walks at a standard pace, keeping his face expressionless and his arms at his sides as he was taught. He meets Midoriya at a street corner, who he will walk with the remainder of the way to school. The shorter boy involves Shoto in conversation, and as he looks over at him to answer a question, a young girl in a middle school uniform rushes past the two high school boys, bumping into Todoroki and falling over in the process. Todoroki and Midoriya turn to look at her. She is sprawled on the ground, her school-things scattered everywhere. Todoroki begins straightening her things absent-mindedly as Midoriya helps her up.

"Are you ok?" Midoriya asks. Todoroki hands the girl her things silently and brushes some dust off of his sleeve.

"Yes thank you. I'm sorry for bumping into you sir." She bows respectfully to the elder boy. He shrugs. Then she looks at his face and goes a bright shade of pink.

"Is something wrong?" Todoroki asks. She rubs the back of her neck and smiles apologetically.

"I-I'm sorry" she stutters. "I haven't exactly gotten the hang of my quirk yet." She says. She pulls out her cell phone and flips the screen toward him, displaying an image of himself. She points to a small black heart just below his left eye.

"You see that? That's my quirk in action." Todoroki's vision goes a bit blurry around the edges. Little black dots cloud his vision.

"You'll collapse in soon." Todoroki falls into Midoriya.

"Is he ok?!" Midoriya asks, holding Todoroki up by the arms.

"That depends. How much did he express his emotions before I touched him?" She asks.

"Never. Why is that important?!"

She giggles nervously and smiles apologetically again.

"Boy do I feel bad for you guys. He'll be out for like a day."

"Why?! What'd you do?!" Midoriya asks frantically.

"Well since he never showed emotion before, he's basically going to be super emotional for a while after he wakes up. But he'll be fine don't worry!" She adds once she sees the worried expression on Midoriya's face. "He should go back to normal eventually." She checks her watch and yips.

"I've gotta go! Sorry again sir! Good luck!" And with that she scrambles around the corner and out of sight.
