Deku's P.O.V

"Wait! What does that mean?!" I yell as the girl rushes around the corner. I look at Todoroki's relaxed face, his eyes close. He's unconscious. I sigh and shift him onto my back, carrying him the rest of the way to school. I head to recovery girl's office and set all of our stuff down. She's nowhere to be seen- probably because it's still early -so I head to the teachers lounge in search of Mr. Aizawa. He's there in his sleeping bag, playing a game on his cell phone.

"Sir!" He jumps and looks up.

"Midoriya what are you doing in the teachers lounge?" He says, sounding annoyed. I run my hand over my face and sigh.

"Todoroki-kun got hit by a quirk on our way to school and now he's unconscious and apparently he's supposed to be out for a day and I can't find recovery girl and-"

"Midoriya slow down. What happened? Slowly this time." I take a breath.

"We were walking to school together and a girl bumped into Todoroki. She looked like she just started middle school which is probably why she doesn't have very good control of her quirk and she accidentally used it on him and he passed out and now he won't wake up. I can't find recovery girl do you know where she is?" I run a hand through my hair. I really don't have the energy to do this today. Aizawa looks at me for a moment, then sighs and begrudgingly gets up. I follow him back to the nurse where Todoroki is laying on one of the cots, curled up in the fetal position. He must've moved. Not unconscious then. He's asleep.

"So why is he sleeping? Was that the girls quirk?" I look at him for bit and chuckle nervously.

"I don't actually know what her quirk is. She ran off before I could ask. It has something to do with emotions I think but she was super vague about it so I don't actually know the side effects or anything she just hit him and left." I say. He gives another annoyed sigh and shakes his head.

"I'll have to call Endeavour. You stay here today and we'll see if he wakes up today." He says, and with that, he leaves the room. I sit in the chair next to the bed and sigh, running a hand through my hair. Why did this have to happen today?

...

Recovery girl enters the office a little while later and sighs when she sees me. I got restless after the first hour so I've been pacing, twisting my hands in my hair, updating my hero notebooks.

"Why are you here Midoriya? I see no broken bones." She says. I chuckle lightly.

"Not here for myself this time Ms. Shuzenji." I say, gesturing to the cot where Todoroki is sleeping, still in the fetal position.

"Why is he asleep in my office during class time? And why are you here and not in class if there's nothing wrong with you?" She asks, quirking an eyebrow.

"He got hit with a quirk and Mr. Aizawa told me to stay here until he wakes up."

"And when will that be?"

"Probably tomorrow. Maybe later today if we get lucky." I sigh and run a hand through my hair again, plopping back down in my chair and laying my head down on the bed. She hms, then pauses and looks at me.

"What?"

"Did you take your meds this morning Midoriya?" She asks. I tense and look away from her.

"Yeah." I lie, avoiding eye contact.

"Are you lying to me?" She asks. I can feel her eyes drilling into the back of my skull.

"Why does it matter?" I sigh, closing my eyes. I hear her rustling around in the cabinets, then she taps me on the shoulder and hands me a plastic container with a few pills in it along with a bottle of water. "Why do you-"

"We've been over this. When you stop taking your meds you fall behind. And do you really wanna go back to what you used to do?" She says. I tug at my sleeves and hug my arms to my chest.

"Don't talk about that..." I say quietly. She smiles sympathetically.

"You've been clean six months today. Take your medicine hun." I chuckle and tip the pills into my mouth.

"That long already huh? How do you always know when I haven't taken my meds?"

"You act like that." She says.

"Like what?" I cock my head to the side.

"Like life has no meaning. There's more to it than that." She sits down in her chair and looks at me. "Why isn't Endeavour here?" She asks after a bit.

"That's a really good question. Aizawa called him like 3 hours ago I don't know where he is." She shakes her head. We talk for a while, then I finish my schoolwork and doze off on the bed next to Todoroki. I really hope he's ok. He's my best friend.

Todoroki's P.O.V

I wake suddenly, looking around. I'm in... Recovery girls office? Why? The last thing I remember is bumping into that girl. I look to my side and see Midoriya, face buried in a book.

"Midoriya? Hey." I smile. He looks up at me and pauses for a minute then lunches himself at me, tackling me in a hug. If I hadn't put my arm behind me we would've been on the floor. He hugs me tightly.

"I was so worried." He whimpers, then hastily lets go of me. "Sorry." He says, wiping the tears from his eyes. "I forgot you don't like hugs." He looks down at the floor. I don't know why, but I pull him to me and embrace him again.

"It's ok. This is... nice. I usually don't like it but it feels good today." I bury my head in his hair.

"What happened?" I ask after a moment. He pulls away.

"You don't remember?" He asks.

"Not really." I chuckle, scratching my neck. "The last thing I remember is bumping into that kid."

"Yeah. She activated her quirk when you bumped into her and you passed out. I had to carry you here." Midoriya explains. "Mr. Aizawa tracked her down and found out what it does."

"Well what does it do?" I ask. He looks down and rubs his arm absently.

"It does a lot. Main thing is it amplifies emotions so anything you feel just gets stronger. The tricky part is you never show your emotions, so she doesn't really know how it'll effect you."

"How long have I been out?" I ask. He looks at the clock and back at me.

"About A day and a half? Could be more. I fell asleep a few times."

"You stayed here?" I ask.

"Well I mean yeah. you're my best friend how could I not?" He says. I smile widely.

I... smile?

"OH! I have to go tell Aizawa you're awake! I'll be right back!"

"I'll come with you." I say, standing. I frown and look down at my uniform. "It's wrinkly." I say absently.

"Well yeah you've been sleeping in the fetal position for a while. Is that comfortable for you?" HE asks. I pause, looking down, suddenly embarrassed.

"Not really it's more just... warm? I never really thought about it before but I guess that's it. Warmth." I say, staring at the floor. I feel my face warming. I don't understand why this is happening. He smiles sympathetically and pats my shoulder.

"I get it. Sometimes it feels nice. Like a hug." I look up.

"Yeah! Exactly! Gods Midoriya you're so smart." I say, patting his head without thinking. I snatch my hand away quickly. "Sorry I don't... know why I did that..." I say. He smiles brightly.

"It's ok. Now come on Aizawa will be relieved to know you woke up. We weren't sure if you would." He says. He practically skips out the door. "Come on Todoroki!" I shake my head and smile, following him.

Maybe feeling won't be so bad.
