Chapter Thirteen

"Alright, you are here today for training. Am I right?"

Ophelia nods to Thilda, they are in the training grounds, it's already 5 in the morning. "Well, I need to unleash my power." Thilda looks at the brunette teenage girl with her eyebrows raised. "You still don't know what is your ability?" Ophelia nods again as Thilda stops herself from laughing. "Even a clue?"

"Well, Miss Eve suggests it's either I have water or telekinesis, Blaise then contradicts that, since my magic is behaving differently." Thilda holds her chin as she turns to her back. She grabbed some cans and placed them on a table. "If you have the telekinesis, try lifting this or something." She taps the can as Ophelia looks at them. "Don't worry, they are light." She crossed her arms.

Ophelia closes her eyes and extends her arms, just like how telekinesis works on movies she watched some time ago. She tries to focus and imagine that she is lifting the can. Seconds later, she opens her eyes. She looks at Thilda who shrug at her. "Try again." She sighs as she closes her eyes and extends her arms again. She focuses and muttering, 'Rise. Rise.', under her breath. She opens her eyes again and she saw a disappointed Thilda. "You can't even lift it at least a centimeter. Try it again."

They were disturbed by Peony who seems to carry a jug of water. "I have refreshments!" Thilda turned to her and smiles, "Put it on the small table there." She commanded, "Alrighty!" Peony puts the jug on a small table and gets some cups. Ophelia tries for the third time to lift the cans but it was a failure, for the third time. She tried and tried but it was no to avail. Thilda is really disappointed.

Peony served them some water, she accidentally slammed it on the table, making a portion spills off the table. "Oops, sorry." Ophelia drinks up as well as Thilda, "It's fine, gladly it's still early, or we will be burning in the sun." The green-haired girl giggles and she looks at Ophelia who seems in deep thinking. "Hey, Ophelia! You can do this!" The teenage girl looks at her and smiles.

Peony took their cups as they finished it and the other two continues. Ophelia again closes her eyes and extends her arms. She focuses on lifting the cans. Outside her vision, Thilda was crouching and looking as if the cans have lifted even a millimeter. She saw with her own two eyes the droplets of water that have spilled before slowly approaches the can on the left, it swirls around the can as it levitates on the air. It was already an inch above the table as it drops, making a 'clank!' sound, Ophelia opens her eyes and panting a bit.

Unlike the previous ones, Thilda's face was not disappointed anymore. It was a face of success. "Did I—" "Do it again, try it without closing your eyes." Ophelia was a bit confused, but the sound earlier might be from the can. She extends her arms without closing her eyes. The water droplets again surround the can as the can slowly levitate in the air. Ophelia's mouth gape, in front of her eyes, the can is levitating.

"COOL!" The can suddenly drop as Peony shouts, Ophelia was shocked by her sudden speaking. The enthusiastic girl suddenly got embarrassed. "I am sorry, I didn't mean to..." Thilda chuckles, "It's okay to admire that." The brunette teenager approaches the can and grabs it, it was wet. She looks at Thilda who looked back at her. "If you are gonna ask about the water, you controlled the water to lift the can, but not you lifting the can." It was a little bit rude, but it's just Thilda, the one and only.

Ophelia looks at her hand, "So I have the water?" Thilda nods, "Well, another challenge! Peony, get that jug in here!" Peony gives them a thumbs-up as she lifts the jug. "Also the cup," Thilda added. "Sure thing!" The joyful girl brings the jug of water and cups to them. Ophelia looked at the girl in front of her, confused. Thilda just smirked and places a cup in front of her and opens the jug and makes it sit on the farthest side of the table.
