a few days ago, my boyfriend of two years had confirmed that we were dating. and since then i had not streamed. despite being a small streamer, the chance that his fans would find me was high. no way was i dealing with them. problems of dating a famous green bitch boy, i guess.

but i knew that i couldn't hide from them forever. eventually, i'd need to stream again. so here we are, logging into twitch.

my setup was untouched, almost gathering dust. my two cameras were set up; one for hand cam, one for face cam. yes - hand cam. you heard me correctly.

it was a) so that people didn't call me a hacker and b) because hands.

i tested my stream quickly, seeing that it was all working correctly, before starting a proper stream. i sat for a few minutes and stared at the 'start stream' button. there was no way that this stream would get through without a hitch.

my cursor disappeared, a click rang through the silent room. here goes nothing?

i sat with minecraft loaded up and waited for people to pour in. "hello, angels!" my smile was as genuine as i could make it. my chat began to pick up after around five minutes of small talk. "today we're gonna be playing some bedwars and it's hopefully gonna be a chill stream."

a few donations came through talking about clay's announcement. i ignored the text and just thanked them for the money. hey, being a pretty female pays off. my friend sloth joined and donated £25 without hesitation.

"hey sloth, thanks for the 25!" i laughed while reading out his message. we were planning on playing together after a couple rounds of solo. my cursor clicked onto hypixel, and i made a few jokes while getting into the correct lobby. dream - clay - messaged me as i was loading a game. 'i'm in the chat, you got this'.

his words made me smile slightly. i moved my character back, into the generator.

and so the game began.

y/n had been streaming for around 45 minutes, 20 of that spent with her friend. i didn't have to worry about them. sloth & n/n had been friends since childhood. there hadn't been many of my 'fans' come into the chat, but there was still time. god. why do people feel the need to hate on people for who they love?

i bit my way into another cookie that my oh-so fantastic girlfriend had made the day prior. our roles were very... traditional. i made the majority of the money and she did the majority of the cooking.

it isn't that i can't cook, she's just better at it. like with a lot of things. she's better at writing and bedwars. whereas i'm better at speedruns and reading her writing. anyway.

it appeared that, while i was zoned out, some more people had joined. her chat was currently spamming 'pog' and the like because she had won the game despite not having a bed nor a teammate.

in between the celebrations, i saw messages that weren't fantastic. they were quite basic, your usual 'you're ugly' or such. y/n hadn't noticed yet. here's to hoping it stayed that way. some others came through, except they were mainly made out of asterisks.

dread to think what they originally said.

i quickly opened up messages and tapped out something to send to her. 'hey, don't read the chat. i love you okay?'. my thumb hovered over the blue send button for a second before pressing down.

n/n's head snapped down to her lap, staying there for a bit before looking back up. her right arm moved to the right, traveling further down before meeting the mouse again. she had closed the lid of her laptop to some sort of angle, i assumed.

her tongue darted out to lick her lips as she concentrated. "aaaa- NO!" the sudden outburst surprised me slightly. i chuckled, watching as she stood up from the chair. a red 'you died' was floating across the screen. "that wasn't great, huh." she came back into view. y/n was smiling slightly, silently laughing at herself.

"you dead?" sloth said. she hummed in reply. "god, idiot. who killed you?"

"grey." her streamer friend promised sweet sweet revenge, before being killed by the same team. "well f- heck, heck, i meant to say heck." y/n's laugh floated through the speakers of my laptop.

"we should read the chat for a while, catch up on donors." she agreed and i panicked for a second before looking at the chat. it had been overwhelmed with hate. her smile faltered for a second, and sloth cleared his throat. "hey that's not nice." his voice sounded sad.

"ah, i'm pretty tired and my throat kinda hurts so i'm going to end the stream here. goodbye everyone, have a good day!" she smiled at the camera before closing down the stream. the grin was clearly faked. you didn't have to have more than two braincells to see that.

i lay on the sofa, smothered by blankets. dream lay behind me, arm wrapped around my waist. the faint sounds of the disney movie we were watching played in the background. i glanced around the room, seeing my phone. i picked it up and looked a the time.

4:46am.

turning down my brightness as to not remove my retinas entirely, i tapped into my twitter notifications. i saw i had multiple mentions from george, wilbur, sloth and clay. my eyebrows furrowed. why would they be mentioning me? sloth was probably talking about some random stuff and decided to chuck me into the mix.

i had more dm requests than usual, and more followers than i had previously. "what the hell..." i whispered. my fingers accessed my mentions, and i scrolled to find the first one. it was written by sloth. 'hey, how about we don't send hate to people? especially when its about the person they're dating, thanks.' was the main tweet.

'@user and @dream don't deserve this.' sloth responded to himself. my heart felt warm as i clicked the like button, sending him a message of thanks. similar were written by wilbur and gogy. just as i was about to read clay's, my phone was snatched from my hands.

"go back to sleep bitch." he grumbled, placing my device onto the table and wrapping his arms around me again. i rolled my eyes, trying to get free.

"at least let me get a drink first, jesus." i ducked under his arms, walking over to our kitchen. "why can't i read your tweet, hm?" the sound of the tap filling my cup sounded through the room. i walked back into the living room, taking a sip of my drink while sitting on one of the chairs.

"you can read it later, it's unimportant."

"if it's important enough for me to be tagged in it, then i'm reading it, thank you very much mr. was taken." i snatched my phone from the table, opening it up and regaining my position on twitter.

after a few seconds of silence, i spoke again. "you're a dork." my eyes stayed on my phone, looking at a photo that niki had taken of us a while back.

"you love me." i hummed in reply. it was becoming a habit that should probably be fixed. oh well.
