Rachels pov :
The bell rang and students quickly rushed into their seats. " Good morning everyone I hope you had a nice weekend but today is when the real work begins . " I told them . Their eyes rolled as they complained. " oh stop complaining about it because my assignment is actually not going to hurt you but it will impact your grade . " I told them . I smiled and then picked up a couple books and started to pass them out. "As our first book we will be reading Catcher in the Rye by J.D Salinger. " I said . They moaned and complained and rolled their eyes. " oh come on you guys this book is a classic , it's a great novel and its very important to society. " I said "How is it important to society its about a kid that's an impulsive liar and takes everything out on other people because he is crazy. " Grace said "True Ms.Hallowell has a point the main character can be analyzed as crazy but there is so much more to it then that . " I told them . "Catcher in the Rye has two major themes and I want you to read this book and I want you analyze it and find a connection to it and heres the twist," I told them "You all have one week to read this book and on Monday I want you to tell what you think those two major themes are and why you think this . " they all groaned and moaned . "This is so unfair Ms.Berry . " Madison said . "Yeah I mean you really think we can do this in a week ?" Trevor asked . " I believe that you can do anything as long as you're dedicated to it. " I told them . "However , if you want you can start reading now so you have the rest of class to do this. "
