chapter one

jennifer jareau pov:
beep! beep! beep!

i hear my alarm go off. i groaned, and turned over to turn off my alarm. it's the beginning of august, and i am starting my new job at the bau. i am officially the communications liason at the bau, in the fbi. i never thought i would have made it this far. when rosaline was born, times were really rough. my parents cut me off, claiming i was a slut who got pregnant on her own. they didn't support me when i wanted to keep rosaline. the guy who got me pregnant begged me to get an abortion, but i said no. the only person who supported me was my older sister, rosaline. she went to every one of my doctor's appointments. she was even there for me when i gave birth. she killed herself a week later, wishing me and my baby the best in life. that's why i named my baby rosaline, to the person, my sister, who saved me.

i get out of bed, to go pick out my outfit for the day. i pick out some black slacks, a navy blue button up shirt, and my black converse. i go to the bathroom to brush my hair and my teeth. i head back to my bedroom to get my go-bag. i made sure i had clothes for the next few days if we were called out on a case.

i heded towards my daughter's room. she's sleeping peacefully in her bed. i look around her room, vines in the corner of her room by her bed. led lights hung all around the top of her room. her bisexual flag hung across from her bed, above her desk. her macbook charging on her desk with her phone. i couldn't be more proud of my daughter, she came out to me last year. i also told her that i was bisexual too. we had a heart-to-heart talk and hug that day.

i went over to the side of her bed to wake her up. she opened her eyes and rubbed them awake.

"i'm going to go into work ros. i left some money on the counter if you want to eat lunch with me at the bau. you can pick. i love you", i said to my daughter.

"ok mom, i love you too. i will go get lunch around noon if that's okay with you", ros said sleepily.

"thats perfect pumpkin, bye", i said to my sleeping daughter. i kissed the top of her head and closed her door.

i put 20 dollars on the counter for lunch later and i walked out the door. i headed to my car, put my go-bag on the passengar seat, then i went to the driver's seat. i drove to the bau and i got there 5 minutes before to meet my boss. i headed towards the elevators, clicked floor 6 button. my hands started to shake, i can't have this anxiety before i start my job. the elevator doors opened and i can see the rest of the team in the bullpen. i walked through the glass doors, and i looked up. i saw the whole team, but a beautiful brunette stood out to me. i walked up to her to ask her where hotch's office is.

"hi, excuse me. i am looking for aaron hotchner's office", i said to the gorgeous lady.

"oh you must be the new agent. my name is emily prentiss. you must be jennifer jareau", emily said, sticking out her hand for me to shake.

"yes, that's me", i said while shaking her hand. we locked eyes for a moment, maybe she think's im pretty too.

"anyway aaron hotchner's office is up the stairs and the first office on your left", emily said while pointing to the stairs.

"thank you", i said to her.

i turned around to go walk up the stairs. i went to the first office on the left, and sure enough it said aaron hotchner. i knocked on the office door.

"come in", a deep voice said.

i opened the door and he looked up from his case files. he motioned for me to sit down in the seat in front of him. i shut the door and sat in front of him. he just told me about the protocals, my job description, and he gave me my badge, and gun.

"today is a paperwork day. once you finish your paperwork, you hand it into me and then you can leave", hotch said to me, while handing me my files.

"is it okay for my daughter to come and bring me lunch?", i asked him.

"yea, tha's perfectly fine. she can meet the team as well", hotch said, while giving me a small smile.

"okay, thank you", i said to him while leaving his office.

i walked down the stairs and headed out of the bullpen, into my office. it is about 10am, so ros should be here in about 2 hours. let's get this paperwork started.

rosaline jareau pov:
beep! beep! beep!

"ughhh", i screamed, slamming my hand against my alarm clock.

i look at the clock and it is 11am. i have to get ready for lunch with my mom. i get up and unplug my phone. i check to see if i got any messages from my mom, if she had to cancel lunch. but, i didn't get any.

i headed towards my closet to pick out my outfit. i picked out a white collared shirt, with a maroon sweatshirt over it, some black mom jeans, cuffed at the end, and some black converse to match my mom. i went to the bathroom to brush and straighten my hair. then i brushed my teeth. i put on my chain necklaces and my black beanie.

i grabbed my macbook and my car keys. i headed downstairs, and i saw my mom left me 20 dollars for lunch. i opened the front door, and locked it behind me. i went to my car, my mom got me a black jeep, my dream car. get got it for me for my birthday last month. i started my car and went to the nearest pizza shop. my mom and i both love veggie pizza, so i ordered a large veggie pizza. i paid for the pizza and went back to my car. i started blasting sweater weather and headed towards the bau.

once i pulled into my parking spot, i turned off my car and walked into the buiding. i went to the elevator and clicked the button for floor 6. i am a little nervous to meet my mother's work colleages because my mother's family never really liked me, what if they don't like me either?

when the elevator door opened i saw a brunette lady waiting for the elevator.

"hi, i was wondering where is jennifer jareau's office?", i asked the brunette lady, once i stepped out of the office.

"oh, okay yea i can show you her office", she says while walking down the hallway.

"so why are you here to see jj anyway?", the lady said to me.

"my name is rosaline jareau, she is my mother", i said to her while sticking out my hand.

"ohhh, that makes sense. my name is emiy prentiss, i am one of you mom's work colleages", emily said while shaking my hand.

"do you want to have lunch with us, i got a large veggie pizza", i said to emily while we stopped in front of my mom's office.

"oh, i don't want to impose", emily said.

the door swung open and my mom saw emily and i talking.

"your not imposing emily, you can have lunch with me and my daughter", i hear my mom say.

"okay, then i guess i will have lunch with you guys. so i can learn more about jj and little jareau", emily said while walking in my mother's office.

i walked in and shut the door.

i saw my mom and emily already in a conversation when i set the pizza down on her desk.

i think my mom has a little crush.
