*Layla's flashback*

"Hey Jackson! Can we talk?"

"Of course Layla. Whats up?" I looked into Jackson's eyes, and was beginning to wonder how I ever loved him. "It's just that..." Unable to continue Jackson urges me on. He speaks so gently just to say one word.. "what?" As I quickly hold up the text message from him, I begin to speak holding back tears,"You sent this to me.." Jackson quickly looks around daring to find someway out of this situation. However, I'd been smart to talk to him in his room. Jackson hurriedly speaks,"Layla I can explain!" I quickly turn away, avoiding his brown oak eyes that twinkled in the darkest of nights. "There is nothing for you to explain Jackson.. Why didn't you tell me!" I screamed in rage, letting out everything I'd held in since we started out together. "I couldn't hurt you like that Layla! I knew it would hurt if I told you."

Layla looks up at me with fury in her eyes her glare death defying. "Hurt me! Hurt me! Am I a fragile china doll that needs the utmost care!? No! By not telling me, you just hurt me even more." I only stare at Layla, as I speak she quietly looks up at me with fear and anger written all over her face. "Layla i'm sorry.." Layla looks at me once more for quite possibly the last time. She quickly gets up from me sea green couch, and starts walking towards the door. I call out for her, tears in my eyes, desperate. Crying with everything in me,"Layla! Please! Don't walk out on me! Please!" Layla stands tall, facing the door, un-moving, holding no emotion she speaks,"I'm done with you Jackson."

As I walk out his screams of need and loss were deafening, only competing with the sound of his sobs. I dared to almost turned back in pity, but instead kept moving. The cold snow whipping in the wind matching the mood I would begin to know as loneliness.

*The present*

"Please Hannah, it's pretty impossible." Hannah just stares at me, music booming in the background. "Yeah right Layla. You're holding back. Come on spill it, who was it?" I turn quickly trying to find an excuse then just give up."His name was Jackson, and it was about 2 years ago." Hannah looks at me with surprise, "Dang, I didn't have to bug you till you were drunk to get it out of you." I just glare at her. Hannah just being herself ignores this, and says," So what happened?" I let out an exasperated sigh and lie," he...um..well.. he texted me he had cancer. The text wasn't supposed to go to me..." Hannah stares eyes full of confusion and curiosity," You're kidding." With a look of concern I shout over the music," No i'm not kidding!" Then, they both hear the door open with a boom you'd hear in movies for dramatic effect. Hannah ignores it, but I'm facing the door; making it hard to no see him when he enters the room with no cares. Cutting Hannah off during her sentence about who knows what I yell, "I'm sorry Hannah, but I have to go! I'll text you later! BYE!!!" She yells after me, but I keep moving. As I'm almost to the exit, Jackson falls back, and bumps into me. We both turn quickly. Jackson is the first to speak," Layla!???" I quickly look for any possible exits from this conversation. After a moments hesitation I speak," Hi Jackson.." Jackson awkwardly rubs his arms, as he speaks"Well this is awkward.." I just stare at him thinking about how it had felt to be be with him. Then I speak," Yeah..Well see you around I guess." Jackson uses his natural charm with one word,"maybe."
