"Keep going Munez!" My fitness coach barked loudly into the empty gym, his voice bouncing off the walls right back at him. "Your slacking, keep your standards high!" he added. You could hear the loud thuds of my feet pounding rapidly on the black rubber conveyor belt of the treadmill.
Andreas looked down at his watch for a few seconds "Andddd time!". I pull the emergency stop cord and the machine comes slowly to a stop. "Man your really trying to kill me today Andreas" I turn to face him, my hands resting on my knees as I try to catch my breath.
"You've got a big fight coming up and need to be in the best shape of your life Patri, and I'm not going to let my lack of effort and professionalism be a possible reason as to why you can't win" he shrugged his shoulders happy with his response.
I grab a cold towel from the ice cooler and wrap it around my neck occasionally dabbing it on areas of my face to try and cool down. "You had a good workout today though, looking pretty solid out there kid" Andreas clapped his hand on my sweat covered back after voicing his praise.
I take a sip of water, "it's a good start hopefully within the next 2 months that we have left Ill be looking better than ever" I look up at him with a smile. Andreas sits down on the gym bench beside me "My dear Patri you have the heart and determination to do whatever it is you want to do in this life, if you want this belt as badly as I think you do, I know you will do everything humanly possible to get it"
He stands up "but as for now we'll call it a day, go home and get some rest you have a sparring session with Tony tomorrow, god help you" he chuckled an amused smile was left sitting on his face.
We both gather up our belongings before locking the gym and heading to the parking lot.
As Andreas walks to his drivers side I do the same. "I'll see you for our next session Patri, until then keep on top of your diet plan and remember to rest" he waves before getting into his car and driving off.I open my car door and throw my gym bag over into the passenger seat. 'These next few months are gonna be long Patri' I say to myself.
I rest my head on the steering wheel for a while and take a moment to let it all sink in. I start my car and make the short but traffic filled journey home.————————————————————————
