A Christmas To Remember

Luz rose up from her sleeping bag, her bedhead and tired eyes slowly shut to let out a yawn and stretched out, getting her body ready for today.

Today she was meant to clean outside of the Owl House.

Hooty recently gathered a bunch of twigs in one place and never bothered to put them back, leaving one of the residents to pick up after him.

After playing a game of Hexes Hold'em to decide who would cleanse the front yard, lo and behold, Luz was the loser, meaning she had to clean the large pile of twigs that was left outside.

She fully got up and walked over to her little bag, grabbing herself a pair of her half-indigo and half-white cat hoodie and some jean shorts.

She walked downstairs to see her caretaker in a kitchen chair, holding her mug filled with apple blood and in her plum sweater.

"You should grab a jacket, it's a little chilly outside." Eda said, taking a sip from her mug and letting out a little snort.

"I'm sure it will be fine Eda! A little cold never killed anybody!"

Luz opened the front door of the Owl House to see a large white block blocking the exit.

"Uhh...Eda? Did you make some white magic barrier or something?" Luz said, inspecting the wall.

"Mmm...nope, get close to the wall and try to find out." Eda said once again, getting up from her chair.

"Alright!"

Luz went closer to the wall and began examining it even closer, being inches away from the white wall, her face was pushed into it, leaving Luz yelping and Eda cackling.

"COLD COLD COLD!!!" Luz wiped off the substance, rubbing her hands against her cheeks to try and warm them up.

"Ahaha! Kid, you should've seen your face!"

"Real funny Eda, bet you had a good laugh, didn't ya?" Luz crossed her arms and pouted, standing up tall and looking off to the side with a small "hmph!"

"I did! I slammed your face right into the snow!" Eda wiped off a tear and tried to calm down, continuously remembering a bit of the scene and leaving her with a small chuckle, and then burst out laughing once again.

"Wait, snow?" Luz finally stopped her pose and looked right at Eda. "I thought it didn't snow this far out?"

"It doesn't, I think a few Slitherbeasts let down a huge avalanche of snow down here, so there's snow all over the place."

Luz let out a loud gasp and brought her hands together, a big smile covering her face. "Oooh, I love the snow!" Luz began to dart towards the stairs when Eda grabbed her from the collar of the back.

"Hold on kid, I love your enthusiasm, but before you go out and have the best time of your life and possible catch hypothermia, we need to get the snow out of the doorway. And since I don't want to melt the snow and have a huge leak of water scattered around the house, you're going to have to call a few of your friends to make us less...snowed in."
