Vince's POV

That morning as I woke up I thought that was the best sleep I had in years!. It actually was the best night ever. The joy, peace and relief I felt was and could only be because of vivian. Having her so close to me -even if close was two doors down the hallway-felt extremely great so you could say that this was a great morning.

I walked down the stairs whistling happily. I even saw one of the blood bank humans walk by and didn't feel an ounce bloodlust, although that maybe because of my abnormal genes but it was mainly because if my mate. When I reached the bottom stair I immediately sniffed the air that was just an instinctual reaction. The first smell I well.. smelt was of course hers. The sweet strawberry smell was so mouthwatering that my body instinctively hardened and the thoughts that ran through my head could have made a hooker blush. Taking a deep breath to calm my buddy downstairs I slowly continued on. There she was.

It was crazy the way my heart immediately started beating erratically. There was no point in denying it now, I was completely and utterly in love with Vivian Charleston. There was only one thing to do now, make her fall for me.

I went behind her and pulled her to me. I nuzzled her neck and breathed in her intoxicating scent.

"Good morning baby. Are you cooking for me?" I asked huskily

I felt her shiver and smirked " do I make you hot baby?" And without a stop her elbow shot back into my abdomen.

"Ow! What was that for?" I asked it didn't hurt, but that was a lot of force that she put into the push and if I didn't react it would make her suspicious.

Deepening her voice she quoted me 'do make you hot baby'

Smirking I answered " it's true isn't?"

I saw her reach for an egg and before I could move, yolk ran down my white shirt. Bewildered I looked up and found Viv doubled over laughing.

"You're......face.....haha" she barely breathed out.

"Oh yeah?" I said with a mischievous tone and poured the flour on her fiery red hair. That shut her up real quick, and before I knew it food was flying everywhere. I don't how long we were doing this, all I knew was this made her laugh and it made my chest ache. She was beautiful.

We were finally interrupted by Jason's parents. the glare the king was sending our way made vivian shrink lower and scoot closer to me.I snarled internally king or not my mate feel threatened and that made me see red. Just as I was about to eliminate the threat my bloodlust haze was cleared by a cranky Jason.

" well, looks like missed an interesting breakfast I wonder what happened?" He asked leaning against the staircase.

" this is absolutely not interesting nor funny but it's completely childish, and it's no way a future king should behave!" The king screamed.

My blood boiled into an all time high when I felt viv's frame shake against me.

With all due respect your majesty" I in an cold voice " whatever my behaviour is with my mate will not be the same as how I act around other people. YOU of all people should know that. On second thought may you don't."

"Why you!" Said the king and almost lunged at me.

"I think, father that you should go after mom"intervened Jason.

The man he became was utterly different to the one he was a second ago, let's just say that.

" oh shit," he whispered before sprinting away.

That was a wonderful, eventful and un unforgettable morning.

Wait! What's that smell? It's coming from Viv. I dragged my nose up her neck and stiffened. The smell was faint but it was there. It was familiar like....like Jason?. Why hadn't noticed it before?. A voice in my had replied 'you were too busy acting like a love sick puppy'.

I immediately stepped away from her. I'm sure that the hurt and betrayal were clear on my face and at time I didn't care. For the smell to linger until morning they must have been together last night. The thought shattered my already cracked hurt and I turned and walked away. After all it was MY fault that Lisa died, he deserves vivian if she wants him. Not me.

Never me.
