Running through the forest with the pale moonlight shining in was beautiful. The light danced across the small lakes appearing every once in a while. And when the wind would blow, the leaves would rustle in a sing-songy way. I wish I could freeze this moment forever.

But then I remember why we're here and where we're going and a frown makes it's way to my face. Don't get me wrong, I like Abigail and she's a nice girl, I just turn into the green monster when I think about who she has.

"Stop lagging behind, Phi! We need to hurry. She could already be dead."

At hearing that, I pick up my pace to more of a faster run and I catch up with Michael.

"Are we really going to run the whole way? It's like 25 miles."

"No, I have a car parked in another two miles."

"A car?" My mouth hangs open as we run. "How in the world did you get a car?"

"I know some people," he picks up his pace and I do the same.

After about half an hour of non-stop running, we reach the car. Sweat drips down my face and I wipe it away. Dang, I must stink.

Looking up, I see a vehicle hidden beneath branches and leaves. Michael steps forward and pulls away the items covering it, revealing a car so old and rusty it doesn't even look like it would run.

"Are you sure it will work?"

"Umm... Yeah," he says unsurely.

"Wow that really makes me confident," I say sarcastically. "Look, we're out in the middle of no where where anyone patrolling the woods can find us and kill us!"

"Shut up! We don't even know it it works or not so we might as well try!" He opens the driver side to the car and hops in. Following him, I pull open the door and sit down in the passenger side.

"Even if it does work do you even know how to drive a car?"

The first response I get is the engine blaring to life.

Then, "No, but I'm going to have to learn if I want to see Abby again."

And that's why I like him, the amount of dedication he has for the one he loves. I only wish it was me.

"Michael, I'm sorry. And hey on a good note, they probably scheduled her execution in a few days so we have some time to stop it."

He doesn't look at me, he doesn't talk, he just drives through the open forest between the gaps in the trees.

After some time, we finally pull onto a dirt road and continue to drive on that.

"It's about 17 miles from here but we have to drop the car off a mile from the camp so they don't catch us or see us," he still keeps his eyes on the road. "We'll also have to sneak you in."

The trees fly by us as we drive farther and farther into the night. I can hear the wind brushing past us through the open windows as we continue to drive. No moonlight streams in through the treetops. Every now and then, there'd be a bump or a pothole in the road causing the car to jiggle.

When it seems like an hour as passed by, the car comes to a halt. Michael pulls the key from the ignition, turning the engine off, and opens his car door.

"Come on, it's time to run again," then the door slams behind him shattering what is left of the window pane.

Like he says, I get out of the car and follow him as he runs faster and faster towards the Fallen's base.

Gosh, we're going to get into so much trouble.
