I look at Harry who is walking over to the couch to sit down. I am so nervous, I don't want him to hate me for kissing him when it didn't really mean anything to me yet. I mean yes, he is really attractive and so far he has a really great personality, but I just see him as a friend right now. Maybe in the future when I'm ready, something will happen, but right now I'm not.
"Is this about you singing in the car, because if it is I'm really-" I cut Harry off before he can finish his sentence because I already know what he's going to say.
"No, Harry, it's not about me singing in the car, but I would love it if we both just forgot about it." I chuckle looking back at him.
"Done, it's forgotten. But what did you actually need to talk to me about?" He looks at me with his beautiful green eyes.
"The kiss." I look back at him worried that he might hate me. "Listen, I have no idea why I kissed you. I think it might've been a heat of the moment thing, you stood up for me and I just did it. I don't want to be in another relationship right now, but I hope this didn't ruin our friendship. If you don't want to be friends, then that's okay, I'll find somewhere else to stay until I find a more permanent solution." I put my head down, looking at my shoes embarrassed.
"Maia, look at me." I look back at him, "I don't hate you. Am I a little pissed off, yes, but that doesn't mean that I don't hate you. I don't want to be your friend, but I know that you're not ready for that so I will be your friend, for now." he tells me.
"What do you mean that you don't want to be my friend?" I look at him in confusion.
"Maia, I really like you. I just have this feeling everytime I'm with you. I get butterflies when you look at me and I just have these feelings for you. I know it's crazy, we've only technically known each other for about two days, but when I saw you at that diner, I couldn't stop thinking about you." Harry's words really take me by surprise.
"I see. But I need you to promise me something, please?"
"What can I promise you?" He says almost laughing at me wanting him to make me a promise.
"I don't want you to do that bullshit, I'll wait for you when you're ready. If we are really meant to be together, then we will both be single when the time comes. But really don't want you to wait for me. You're in your early twenties and I want you to enjoy that, Harry." I look up at him and smile, and he smiles back at me.
"I promise."
We spend the rest of the day just watching T.V. and having fun. We talked for a little bit and laughed, a lot. I really did mean what I said earlier when I told him not to wait for me. I didn't want him to put his whole love life on pause just for me.
The time is about 6:30 and I started getting hungry.
"Hey, I'm getting kind of hungry, do you want to order a pizza or something?" I ask Harry who is sitting on the couch next to me.
"Uh, yeah, pizza sounds good. I'll order it, I'll be back." He walks into another room to order the pizza and leaves me alone with my thoughts.
I really like Harry, he really seems to care for people who he barely knows. I mean hell, he's letting me stay at his house! I could never thank him enough for letting me stay here, it really means a lot to me. I don't know, maybe we will end up together, maybe he'll find someone else and forget all about me, but either way, I hope he's happy. I'm pulled out of my thoughts when Harry comes back into the room.
"I ordered the pizza, should be here in about 45 minutes." He tells me as he's walking back over to the couch to sit back down in his spot he was sitting in. "Are you cold? Do you want a blanket?" He offers me.
