Chapter 2:

2016 (around November)

"Ugh! I'm going to be late for work." I let out a frustrated sigh because I can't find my keys.

"Sweetie, they're right here."

"Ah! Thank you, you are a lifesaver. I'll see you after I get off work?"

"Okay, I love you."

"I love you too." I tell him as I'm walking out of my house.

I'm usually never late to work, but last night I got home so late and I had so much stuff to do. I feel bad for Brian. He stayed up with me and made sure I went to bed because I will often pull all-nighters.

I had just enough time to stop and get me a coffee before going in for work. I work at a local company as a CEO. It's not what I would've preferred, but I make some good money doing it.

I met Brian about a year ago at a random bar I went to with some co-workers. We clicked almost immediately. We finally moved in together about 2 months ago.

"Coffee for Maia." As I'm walking towards the counter to get my drink, I feel someone tap my shoulder and whisper my name.

"Maia?" I look at the man with sunglasses on inside and black jeans and a tee-shirt on. No. This can't be. Can it?

"Harry?" I whisper back because obviously he didn't want to be noticed.

"Oh wow, I can't believe it's actually you. I feel like it's been so long. Do you have time to talk and catch up?"

"I'm really, really sorry, but I'm running late for work."

"Oh okay," He says with a deep sigh, "Do you have time after you get off work to talk and stuff? I just really want to see how you're doing."

"Uhhh, yeah I think after I get off would be fine. I'll just have to let my boyfriend know." As soon as I said the word boyfriend his expression completely changed. "Do you just want to meet at the cafe that's down the street?"

"Yeah, that would be fine," He clears his throat, "What time do you get off?"

"I get off at 5."

"Okay, I'll let you get to work then. Bye Maia."

"Bye."

As soon as I leave, I immediately call Daisy. She will not believe this. When I told her everything about the first time we hung out, she was for sure that we would end up together, but I never saw him again. It was almost like after a while after we met, he fell off the face of the earth. I just really wish I asked him for his number or something, maybe my life would be completely different. No, I'm with Brian and I'm happy, or am I?

"Hey M, what's up?"

"Dais, you will never believe what the fuck just happened!" I basically screamed into the phone so loud that I'm sure that if I was still near the Starbucks Harry and everyone would've heard me.

"What?" Daisy said with a very calm and underwhelming tone.

"Wow, well you sound excited." Usually when I'm really excited she'll get excited, but she wasn't this time. Something felt off.

"Sorry, I've just got a lot on my mind. What's the big news?"

"Well," I say as I start to get in my car, "You know how I go to Starbucks basically every morning?"

"... Yeah."

"Well guess who the fuck was there!"

"Who?"

"Harry!" I don't really know why I just said his first name, but I just felt right.
