Today was the day we would leave to go on the vacation to the mountains. We rented a nice little cabin near a small little village.
We had finished planning everything the day before, and all packed for today.
Turns out Sam actually has a license, but never told any one of us so he could get free rides from us smh.
I grab my suitcase and my backpack. We were going to be there for a whole week and a half so I had to practically pack my whole dresser.
I grab a few snacks from my pantry for the road, but i hear a knock on the door.
My head shoots to turn to the door.
The door opens and a head pops in, "Hello? Anyone home?" Louis walks in.
"Hey Louis!" I set down the snacks I had grabbed and walk to him to give him a hug.
"Hey Sarah!" He hugs me back, "all packed? We're waiting for you outside." He points to the window that shows the driveway.
"Already?! Oh uh okay!" I grab the snacks and stuff them into my backpack. I grab my purse from upstairs and put it over my shoulder.
We head outside, and I put my stuff in the trunk of Sam's car.
Finally a break from all the stuff that has been going on, and I get to spend some time with my friends.

We're about halfway through our 5 hour drive. I've been scrolling through Tiktok, screaming songs, watching Netflix, and talking.
"Hey, Sarah?" Louis looks over at me.
"Yes?" I reply, stretching out the s.
"I want to take a nap, can I maybe lean on your shoulder?" He asks with puppy dog eyes.
I stare into his eyes, refusing to say yes. But I finally give in.
"fine." I sigh.
"Thank you!" He covers himself with a little blanket we were sharing and leans on my shoulder and falls asleep.
Maddi turns around and gives me a little smirk. I roll my eyes and watch the clouds in the sky, trying to figure out the shapes of the clouds.

I mess up Louis' hair.
"Don't touch my hair!" Louis jolts up from his seat in a fighting position.
"we're here dummy." I reach over to mess up his hair again but he blocks my arm.
"my hair is what gets me all the ladies!" He fixes it and smiles at me.
"whatever you say," I get out of the car and grab my suitcase from the trunk.
The cabin roof is covered with fresh new snow. It was cold, but not freezing.
I stomp my feet on the porch to knock off the snow from my boots. I walk through the door to be welcomed into a cozy little cabin. It was warm inside, and everything was furnished and the kitchen was filled with food.
Sam, being the foody that he is, heads straight for the kitchen.
I walk around. Me and Maddi are roommates in one room, and in the other is for the boys.
Im greeted into my room with two logged beds, perfectly made, with the two beds on the opposite sides of the room, leaving room in the middle.
I unpack my things into my side of the closet and my drawer. Maddi walks in and plops down on her bed.
"So about Louis!" She sits up on her bed, leaning against the wall.
"What are you talking about?" I give her the be quiet look and I shut the door.
"Anything happen?" She claps her hands.
I lean back against my wall while sitting on the bed, and hug my knees.
"We might have kissed." I say in a quiet tone.
"WAIT WHAT?!" Maddi jumps from her bed, and jumps onto mine, hitting me with a pillow.
"How dare you not tell me right after" She pauses in between each word to hit me.
"sorry, I just thought you were busy eating your meal" I look at her and give her a sassy smile.
She gives me the stink eye and hits me with the pillow again.
"rude" I say as she walks out of the room backwards flipping me off with a smile on her face.
I roll my eyes at her and lay down on my bed. Its been a week since my mom died. Sure enough the next day after hanging out with Louis I couldn't get out of bed. I was too busy crying, and didn't want to do anything at all.
I told myself that it was okay, thay everyone has their own path in life to go. Her's just got a bit bumpy and they had to close the path off.
Sure it still bothers me that she's gone. But atleast I have my friends around me to help me through this.

I walk into the living room to see Sam and Louis finishing some present wrapping, since it was christmas eve tomorrow.
I try and peek but Sam gets up from his chair and pushes me out of the way.
"You can't look, these are for you and Maddi, and we all know you stuck at keeping secrets." Sam says as he leads me to the living room.
"Whatever, speaking of Maddi, where is she?" I ask. A few minutes after she left me room I heard the door open, but i didn't know if it was her or not.
"She went to town to get some more gifts." Sam says as he goes back to the kitchen table.
I can't wait to see what I'm going to get for Christmas. I got them all friendship rings that have a little sun on it because we're eachothers yellows.
I also got them other presents of course, but the ring present im really excited to get their reaction of.

its currently 1:43 am for me, and
I have to wake up early tomorrow
because I'm visiting some friends
that I haven't seen in a very
long time due to them living
3 hours away from me, and covid.
Also my aunts dog got attacked by
some other dog so he had to get stitched, and the cuts were near
the eyes so that sucks.
