The New Girl

" Anthony, we're going to meet Mari at the cafe today at 12 o'clock." Ian said to me two weeks after Kalel and I broke up.

"Ok." I said.

While Ian was driving, he got a text from Mari and read it at a red light.

"Who's gonna be there, Ian. Just us three?"

"Uh... Yeah," He said.

When we got there Mari was sitting at a table with some girl. I looked at Ian. He just smiled.

"Hey, Mari," Ian greeted her.

I just stood there staring at the girl. Man, she was beautiful.

"Anthony, this is Josephine, one of my good friends," Mari said.

The girl, Josephine, was staring at me too. Then she leaned over to Mari and whispered something in her ear that made her smile.

"Hi." She smiled.

I smiled back. "Hi."

"Ok. You two." Mari said. "Ian and I are going to go sit inside, but you two should stay out here..."

When she left I asked Josephine, "So what do you want?"

"Um... The club sandwich looks good," she said. "What about you?"

"I think I'll have the same thing." She smiled.

While we sat there waiting for the waiter, I kept looking at Anthony and I would see that he was staring at me. Every time that happened, I would look down unfortunately blushing. Dang, he was just so hot.

Then the waiter came. It was this really rude, fat black lady.

"Are you gonna order, or what?"

"Uh, ya," I said. " I'll take the club sandwich and a coke."

She looked at Anthony. "What do you want?"

"I'll have the same thing." And she just walked away.

As soon as she was gone, Anthony and I both mocked her at the same time,"Are you gonna order, or what?" We looked at each other and cracked up. Just then my phone buzzed, " I'm sorry. Its probably Mari."

"Its okay," he said and smiled. Omg. That smile!!!

I looked down at my phone. Yep, it was Mari.

                                                U guys having fun?

I said:                                             yep

A second later she said:      wat were you guys laughing bout

I looked at Anthony.

         
                                              R u guys spying on us?!!

It took her a minute to answer with:    Noo...

"Ugh," I said.

"What?" He looked at me with a confused look on his face.

"Mari and Ian are spying on us."

"Of course they are. I mean, they set us up on this date, and they're gonna watch us. What do you expect from those two?"
