Another TharnType Story

Sharing the past...

Type was happy being around his two friends after such a long time. They talked a while about their work and soon the talks became personal.

"Techno, I never heard how you and P'Lhong got together"

Techno smiled a little before explaining

"After you left P'Tharn was suffering, along with him Lhong was also in pain. He is Lhong's best friend and only family. Once, while in a bar P'Tharn got into a fight and during the fight Lhong was badly injured. When Lhong was hospitalized I got to know his family never really cared for him much. Even after knowing their son was injured his parents didn't bother to show. His sister called him out of worry but that was it. So it was me who took Lhong to my home.

At first Lhong was awkward around my parents but they accepted him with open arms. My mom loved him like another son and he soon got friendly with them. He never really had experienced anything closely related to family. He stayed with us for a while. Everyday we used to go for work together, have breakfast, lunch and dinner together. We soon got to know each other more during our late night works. After I came out with our relation to my parents they more or less knew it. They had accepted Lhong long before.

I got an apartment and we moved in together but even now Lhong is the one who makes visit and calls to my parents more than me. It was after a year I started my business. I wanted to give Lhong everything he deserve, every happiness. That's why it took so long for us to think about marriage, I wanted to pay for the wedding myself instead of taking Lhong's money. When I used to see you and P'Tharn back then, I never really understood love, but after being with Lhong I got what love really is.. what it means."

"I am so happy for your Techno. I can see P'Lhong loves you like anything. Like I loved..."  Type stopped mid sentence.

"Like you did to P'Tharn." Techno completed his sentence.

Type looked away without meeting their eyes. After a few minutes of silence Techno continued

"Type you don't know this but after you left, P'Tharn was in very bad condition. Everyday he was drowned in alcohol. When me and Champ first came to know about the breakup, we tried to contact you but couldn't reach you. After finally contacting our university, we were told that you had left the country and your diploma was also collected by someone else. We had no way to contact you and felt so lost. For some time both of us were very angry with P'Tharn and others. When we started working with Lhong in his office at first, we were still upset. But soon Lhong told us about P'Tharn's condition.

There were times when Lhong and me, we both went to get him from bar and took him home. But after Lhong got injured P'Tharn realized he could have lost Lhong, he somehow got himself together. He joined the office once again and everything became normal. It was after two months, he told us about his relationship with P'Art. We could see P'Art had really changed. He became more attentive and understanding towards P'Tharn and even P'Tharn had started smiling once again which made my Lhong relived.

But one thing never changed was that he never allowed anyone into your apartment after you left. Only me and Lhong have been there few times and even now it is kept the same. The apartment still has your photos together, the furniture you had picked out together, your kitchen, your bed and everything else. P'Tharn never changed anything, the only thing that was added in your bedroom was a black and white photo of something which P'Tharn keeps at bedside. We both don't know what it was but its still there. Lhong told me even P'Art is not allowed into your bedroom. We never knew what exactly happened between the two of you. P'Tharn never even told Lhong or P'Tum."

Type didn't knew how much and what exactly to disclose and kept mute. He realized which photo Techno was talking about. Techno continued

"After you left there were many rumors around the university. Few said that P'Tharn had cheated on you with a girl and got her pregnant. Others said that you were cheating on him with someone from the office where you completed internship. There were few who said that you had left P'Tharn for his brother. We never belived any of it but when we saw you with P'Thorn and Anna, both me and Champ remembered the rumors. Was that true? Is that what happened between you two?"

"We would never judge you Type and you don't have to answer if you don't want to."  Champ added calmly

Type just kept looking at them. They stared back at him eyes full of understanding and love for him. Type knew it was time to share his pain with them.

"I never cheated on Tharn. I didn't leave him for P'Thorn or anyone else. It was Tharn who didn't wanted to be with me anymore, he wanted me to leave him and go away.. while I was in the hospital he clearly told P'Thorn that he didn't wanted to see me ever again and that he wished I had died. The photo what you talked about is an ultrasound picture."

"Ultrasound?? So P'Tharn did got some girl pregnant?" Champ responded shockingly

Type took a deep breath before speaking "No, he didn't got any girl pregnant. It was my ultrasound. I was the one who was pregnant at that time."

"What???"  Both Champ and Techno believed Type to be crazy and looked at him in the same manner.

"I know its hard to believe but that's the truth. Other than our families we never told anyone."

"But if you were pregnant why did you leave?"

Type explained everything till the moment he landed in the hospital. Each word coming out of Type's mouth shocked Techno and Champ. They didn't knew whom to believe. The man whom they had seen grieving or the man who was their friend.

"I cannot believe P'Tharn would do that to you."

"Neither could I but he did."

"So....that means Anna is...."  Champ started

"MY daughter.."  Type replied quietly ending the talk.

The three friends kept sitting at the beach each lost in their own thoughts. Before long they were joined by other. Lhong came and hugged Techno while Anna got into her papa's arms.

Type hugged her tightly as if he was about to lose her. Other moved away towards the water to play while Anna and Type kept sitting. Tharn after standing a while couldn't resist being near Anna.
