Your memories of your past were all a blur.

You can't exactly pinpoint when it really happened. But some time ago, a group of unknown rouge ninjas set your home on fire after they murdered your family while you were on your way home from the forest. You no longer have any relatives who will look for you, that's why he decided to take you with him. At least that's what he told you.

Obito Uchiha. A member of a notorious organization named The Akatsuki. But for you, he was the man who saved and protected you all this time.

Yet unbeknownst to you, everything he told you were all nothing but lies.

He saw you that day in the pond, playfully soaking your feet in the cold water under the sun.

That was the first time he saw you. But what really sparked his interest in you was your face, a mirror image of his one true love.

When you were about to leave, a ferocious wolf appeared right in front of you. You wouldn't be alive today if it wasn't for him. 

So as for his resolve, he decided to take you with him, to secretly make you his own.You were grateful for the first few days of being with him. He fed you, clothed you- he provided you all your basic needs. 

After a couple of days, you started to feel uneasy. You felt something is wrong. You wanted to go back home. So you started asking questions.

"When can I go home, mister?" you asked him one late night. 

"Home? Rin, this is your home. You belong here. With me." His hands caressing your face, tucking some strands of your hair behind your ear.

"Mister, I told you. My name is Y/N." 

"It's late, Rin. Have some rest." He snapped at you.

You didn't even know what his name was or what he looked like because he never took off his mask even around the house.

The next day, when he came back from God knows where, you tried your luck again.

"Please don't get me wrong, mister. I'm really grateful to you for saving me that day in the forest. But please, I need to go home. My father and mother, they're both old. I don't want them to worry about me. I'm sure they're looking for- "

He turned to face you. 

"Rin, I hate repeating myself. This. Is. Your. Home! I AM YOUR HOME!" he shouted at your face making your heart skip a beat. Eyes grew wide in shock, you wrapped your arms around yourself. You took a step back away from him while your whole body was shaking in fear.

His aura immediately shifts from being dominant to being concern.

He pulled you into an embrace, he mumbles his apologies as his hand keeps on rubbing your back hoping to ease the tension. With shock evident in your eyes, tears ran down your cheeks as you whispered to him, "Please, just let me go home."

"Rin, your house- it was set on fire by some unknown rouge ninjas. After they- after they murdered your father and mother..." 

The room fell silent. A cold numbness runs across your body. You couldn't speak, as if your tongue was paralyzed. Even if you could, you wouldn't know what to say.

How could they be dead? Who killed them?

He cupped and lifted your face, "Hey look at me. Your family is dead. I'm the only one you got now, Rin."

You glanced at his eye, you have never seen anything like it before.

That night, you dreamt of your family. You dreamt of them being butchered. Their ear-splitting cries for help, the blood that splashed on the floor and wall, and the ashes and remnants from your home.

This is his way of manipulating you. Whenever you try to seek answers, he tortures you mentally by using his genjutsu on you. He forces to show you what he wants you to see. Making it all seem like a bad dream.

It all felt so real. Countless nights, you wake up all sweaty and panting. And he never fails to give you the comfort that you need, he'll stay beside your bed, patiently waiting until you fall back to sleep.

The fake nightmares stopped occurring when you finally got tired of asking him questions about his name, or asking for permission if you can at least go outside and pick some flowers or fruits. Because his answers were always "No" or "Maybe next time, Rin."

He would always go out in the morning leaving all the doors and windows locked and comes home before twilight.

Until one morning, you woke up, and to your surprise, he left all the windows and doors opened.

Grabbing the chance, you rush outside the house. You run without any plan in hand. You kept on running. It doesn't matter where your feet will take you. You need to get away.

And you suddenly stop.

Where would you go? 

Anywhere. 

Anywhere as long as it's far away from him.

But can you survive without him? 

If the nightmares start to haunt you again, will you be able to get through that? Alone?

"I can't." you whimpered. 

"I can't!"

"I don't have anyone anymore. I have nothing to go back to." You buried your face in your hands.

Tormented, you wiped your tears as you turned your heel and slowly walked back home.

Home. He is my home now.

As soon as you set your foot back into his house, you saw him waiting for you. But this time, he welcomed you with his unmasked face, making you freeze in your tracks.

"I'm surprised to see you come back, Rin." 

The strange name did not bother you anymore. 

"I realized it's not right to keep you locked up in here. I'm giving you your freedom, Rin. You're free to walk out that door." He sounded calm and apologetic.

Is he pushing me away? I can't go. I don't want to.

You rushed towards him and wrapped your arms around him. 

For the first time in what seemed like a very long time, you felt safe in his arms.

"Please don't send me away. I don't... I don't wanna go away." You pleaded.

"Oh, darling, I will never want to send you away, not even in my dreams." He planted a soft kiss on the top of your head, squeezing you in a tight hug.

You felt his warmth. You felt safe. You finally felt home.

"I love you, Rin. I'll never let you go this time." He lifted your chin and pressed a soft kiss on your lips. You kiss him back.

"But what will I call you?"

"Obito Uchiha. And you are my Rin."
