Sometimes when I'm sad, I put my feet in the shower and let the water tickle my feet because I find it funny. But I haven't done that this week, because this week, my birthday is coming up. And on my birthday, I'm never sad. I think.

It's about to hit midnight, and I'm sitting here watching the clock's every move.

11:54...

11:54...

11:54..

11:55...

The time is going so slowly, I suppose I should do something,
...or that's what I'd like to say.

I'm not energetic through the day, nor am I through the night. So I don't have any energy left in me to get up.

My personality seems very bland. But I am you, so this is practically your fault. Go do something about that.

11:59...

11:59...

11:59...

11:59...

00:00.

I open up my laptop and refresh my screen about 7 times. No birthday messages yet. Yet.

I was kind of hoping for something magical and unexpected to happen, but that's for another story. I think.

I lay on my back and stare at the ceiling. My eyes unfocused and my mind goes blank, I start to doze off.

I can feel my eyelids on my eyeballs. It feels like my body is asleep, but I'm awake. Is this sleep paralysis? Maybe I should open my eyes- oh, but I can't move a muscle. I think.

All of a sudden I remember an event from a few days ago. It was 2AM and I was taking a ''What pizza are you?'' quiz (I don't think I needed to add that bit in). I remember seeing a video afterwards, it was a video on facts about sleep paralysis. I don't know why I was watching it, I've never even had this before. I don't even have to try and think about the important step on how to get out of it, "Rule number 4: wiggle your toes. It will awaken your body."

I try to wiggle them, but nothing is moving. Wiggle. Please. I can't wiggle my toes. Why aren't they wiggling? Oh- I've got the hang of it now.

I feel my toes moving. Rubbing off of eachother and tickling eachother.

My eyelids finally widen and it's daytime already? Weird. Suspicious. Maybe something magical did happen!

I sit up and try to fix my eyes up.

Something feels off. (That's a lie. Nothing feels off, I just said it because normally something cool happens when characters say that)

I don't think I should bother writing down the details about me getting ready, so I'm going to do a time skip.

Okay, never mind. I'm in the bathroom and my toothbrush is a different colour. Did something happen? I knew something was off! (No, I didn't)

Maybe it's someone else's? But nobody else lives in my room. I think.

I would want to go downstairs and ask my parents, but I don't like leaving my room with a stinky breath. So I gargle water instead. This is not the first time I've skipped brushing my teeth, but doing it on my birthday disgusts me.

OK. I think I should do the time skip now.

School uniform is on. It looks a little off, (no, it looks more than off. Is this even the same school?), but it's okay.

I leave the house without conversating with my parents, it's not an abnormal thing.

Before the door appears a mirror. So, I look at myself in it. Twice. Thrice. Quadrice.

Wait, why is my hair bright green?
