"Sirius can I talk to you for a minute?"
The boys all looked at Remus who kept his eyes on Sirius. Sirius looked up in surprise, "Yeah, ok." He made sure El was still asleep before following Remus out into the hallway. "What's up?"
"El can't go back there"
"Well yeah, no shit. But she's stubborn, and scared. She's terrified that if she leaves they'll find her and it'll be worse than it already is."
"If she's worried about being found at James' house she could stay at mine. My mums a muggle my dad is a halfblood so your parents are probably less likely to look there. Can you just try to convince her to leave?"
Sirius looked thoughtful for a moment before speaking again. "No."
Remus was shocked. "W-what?"
Sirius looked him dead in the eyes. "I've already tried to convince her to leave for years. She doesn't listen to me. But she might listen to you."
"Okay, I'll try."
Sirius smiled. "Good. Believe me, I don't want her there any more than you do. Now lets go back in before the others start to get worried."
Remus nodded and went back into the dorm wondering how he was going to convince El to leave her parents house.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
When El woke up she wasn't quite sure where she was for a moment. She figured out that she was in the boys dorm when she sat up and realised that she couldn't see the floor. The dorm was empty aside from Remus who was sitting cross-legged on his bed writing something. He looked up once he heard her moving around. "Morning," he smiled.
El rubbed her eyes. "Where are the others?"
"In the Great Hall eating breakfast. They're going to bring some food back up here and we were just going to have a chill day."
"How come you're not with them?"
Remus put down his quill. "I didn't want to leave you alone. And I also need to talk to you about something."
Elektra sat cross-legged on Sirius' bed and looked at him hesitantly. "Okay?"
"There's no point in beating around the bush so I'm just going to get to the point. You can't stay with your parents. Please go to James' house like Sirius did. Or if you're worried about your parents coming after you, you can come to my house. My mums a muggle and my dads a halfblood so they wouldn't think of going there."
"I can't." El all but whispered it but Remus still heard her. She looked at the ground so Remus wouldn't see her eyes filling with tears.
Remus got up and sat beside her. "I know you're worried that they'll come after you but if they don't know where you are they can't come after you. Besides, we wouldn't let them take you back there. My mother may be a muggle but she can be very intimidating. Especially when she has a wooden spoon."
Elektra giggled but quickly stopped when she remembered what they were talking about. "I can't leave Regulus."
Remus frowned. None of them had considered the fact that she could be worried about her second brother. "If you're worried about him getting hurt he could come too, I'm sure no one would mind."
"He wouldn't come. He actually agrees with our parents beliefs. Our parents are nice to him."
"So why are you worried?"
El looked up. "He's on his way to becoming a death eater."
Remus was silent. "Do you think you wouldn't become one if you stayed?"
Elektra replied so quietly he barely heard her. "No."
"El as harsh as it sounds, you are more important to me than Regulus. And you might not want to admit it but another summer like that could kill you. Your parents aren't going to stop and it's not worth your life. Especially considering Regulus would probably become a death eater even if you were there."
Elektra said nothing. As much as she didn't want to admit it, she knew he was right. Going back there would kill her. The tears were now streaming down her face. Remus glanced at her and was immediately panicked when he realised she was crying.
"Oh no! I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make you cry, I was just saying what would happen- I'm so sorry!"
Elektra laughed at how panicked Remus was as she wiped away her tears. "No, no, it's not your fault. You're right, me staying isn't going to make Regulus change."
"So, you'll stay with me or James then?"
Elektra smiled. "If you're sure your parents won't mind me staying, then ok."
"YESSS!"
El and Remus jumped as James burst through the door cheering. Sirius stood in the door shaking his head and Peter stood slightly behind him trying not to laugh.
"So much for being sneaky Prongs," Sirius said rolling his eyes. "But for the record El, I'm very glad you changed your mind. So whose house are you staying at?"
Elektra smiled. "Remus', if his parents are ok with it."
"YESSS!" James cheered once again startling them all. "MY SHIP IS SAILING!"
Sirius' eyes narrowed. "No ships are going anywhere."
"I wouldn't be so sure about that Padfoot. After all they will be living together!"
El and Remus blushed as they caught on to what James was talking about and Sirius tackled James to the ground. Peter just calmly stepped over the wrestling boys and started organising the food. Remus looked at Elektra. "I know he's your brother, but he's an idiot."
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The five marauders spent the rest of their day eating sweets, playing exploding snap and betting on who will win James and Sirius' wrestling matches and what animal Lily would compare James to next.
But all Remus could think of was, why hadn't El said anything when James was talking about them? Did she just not want to offend him? Or maybe she just hadn't realised what he was talking about. Yes, that was probably it. She just didn't realise. There's no way she would ever feel like that about him. If you could have any boy (and most girls) in Hogwarts why on earth would you go for the awkward werewolf with a chocolate addiction? He was being ridiculous. Besides, if she really did like him like that she would have said something by now, right?
