In the darkest corner of a cave, Maria cried. Her experience had rattled her, and the mans beautiful eyes still showed clearly in her memory. He had been beautiful, and she had been terrified. She wondered what he could be doing at this moment, if he had gotten off the island yet or if he was still laying on the dock, cold and obviously damage. But she would not go look, her mind was certain. She would not tempt herself so. Her family didn't understand. How could they? They thoroughly enjoyed pulling helpless humans to the depth and making a meal of them. But Maria couldn't stand it. She hated it. Yet it was her nature. So she hated her nature, and so was full of hate for herself. Her heart pinned for her song, her voice wanting desperately to erupt into its enticing, deadly song. She thought of him alone on the island, and cried again. He was just as alone as she. And worse off. Maybe she could just ask the turtles if he had gotten away safe yet, maybe just that would be alright....
