Ally's POV

My brain was trying to process everything that was occurring. I was moving? I can't believe this. It's not possible. Well, I don't think it is. I never agreed to this!

"Dad, do you think this is the best time? I mean, sure it's good for the business but I'm going to graduate soon. I was already planning to go to college here in Miami." I told him, exasperated.

"I know it's kind of sudden but it's for the good of the business. I care about your future a lot too honey don't get me wrong, but I think this is for the best. I'm sorry I didn't tell you sooner." He replied.

"I-I just need to process this. Rethink everything mostly. I-I'm going to my room." I said as I approached the stairs, wanting to leave the kitchen as soon as possible.

"Ally-"

"Dad, please drop it for now okay? I need some alone time." I said, cutting him off. I know that was rude, but I'm not in the mood to talk further more right now. I looked back at him, catching his expression soften in the corner of my eye.

"Alright." He says, sighing. I walk upstairs, the tears already forming in my eyes. Austin. How am I going to tell him about this? It's going to crush him. It's already crushed me.

As I get to my room, I walk towards my bed, closing the door in a split second, and lie down. I need to talk with someone. Let the feelings out. And I knew exactly who.

I grabbed my phone and scrolled through my contacts, looking for the number of a familiar raven haired Latina. Once I found it, I clicked on it.

Trish answered after the second ring.

"Hey girl!" Trish greeted.

"Hey, can you meet me at Cafe Trend in 10 minutes? I've got stuff to talk about with you." I told her.

"Ally, I'll be there in 5. See you there." She says.

"Thanks T." I reply and I hang up.

I grabbed my small purse, my phone, and car keys. I walk out of my room and walk downstairs. I get caught off guard as I notice my dad still there.

"I'm going out with Trish." I mutter, loud enough for him to hear. I refused to look at him.

"Okay. Drive safely." That was all he said.

I walked out the front door, without saying goodbye, and got into my car. I started the engine and pulled out the drive way.

The cafe wasn't far from my house. I always got there in about 5 minutes.

All that went through my head during the car ride to the cafe was Austin's reaction. Trish's too. Man, I was so worried.

I walk through the door of the cafe as I catch Trish in one of the booths. I walk towards her. She stands up.

"Hey girl." She greets me, giving me a quick hug.

"Hey Trish." I say, returning the gesture. I walk towards the booth and slide in. She does the same but on the opposite side.

A waitress approaches our booth, a notepad and pen in her hands.

"Hey Ally. Hello Trish." The waitress says. Saddie, the waitress, always sees us here often and always takes our order, so she knows our names well by now. She's also a really good friend of ours.

"Hey Saddie." I say, smiling.

"Sup Saddie." Trish says.

"Hey girls. What will it be today? The usual?" She asks.

"Yes please." We say in unison.

"On it. Be right back." She replies, writing it on her notepad and walking away.

"So," Trish starts. "What did you want to talk to me about?" She asked.

"Well, I think you're going to want to sit down." I say. This moment is like when my dad told me about the move. Funny. Not really though.

"Uh Ally," Trish says, trailing off. "I'm already sitting." She says, pointing down.

"Oh yeah. Sorry. Just nervous." I say.

"Well, spill it out. Then you won't be as nervous." She suggests.

"But what about your reaction? Are you going to be okay with what I'm going to tell you?" I ask her. I rambled when I was nervous.

"Ally, stop rambling. And stop stalling! What is it? You're keeping me on the edge of my seat!" She says.

Just then, our drinks arrive.

"Oh yes! I was wondering when these were getting here." I say, thanking Saddie, and grabbing both drinks.

"Here Trish. Here's yours." I say, giving it to her.

"Yeah yeah thanks. Tell me already!" She says, insisting. Okay, here it goes.

"Trish," I say.

"Yes Ally?" She replies, raising the cup of coffee to her mouth, taking a sip.

"I'm moving." I tell her.

Next thing you knew, she did a spit take. Her drink landed all over me and the booth, both seats and table. Her reaction was uncalled for.

"Oh come on Trish, really?" I tell her, whining loudly.

"Did you say what I thought you just said?" She asks, eyes widened.

"Yes Trish, I'm moving!" I say.

"What? How? This can't be happening." She says.

"I know right! My dad just told me today! Right when I came back from my date with Austin. I was so happy when I got home, but that soon went all away." I told her.

"Why are you moving?" She asks me.

"My dad says its best for the business. He got a really good deal in California. Trish, I don't want to leave. My senior year is almost ending. I was planning to go to college here. And now, when my dad tells me about this 'fantastic' news, it's like he's throwing my future plans away." I tell her, getting teary eyed.

"I don't want to leave you guys. You, my best friend. Dez, with his crazy moments. And, A-Austin. What will he say? We were already planning our future together. Moving in together. I just don't want to throw that all away out the window!" I say, now crying.

"Oh Ally," She says, sliding out of her side of the booth and sliding into my side. "Come here kiddo." She finishes, engulfing me in a hug. I don't hesitate to return it. We stay like that for a few minutes. It feels like hours. I cry into her shoulder until we eventually pull away.

"It's okay Ally. I know it's hard, but you have to go through it. I'm here to help you with anything you need. I won't leave your side." Trish tells me.

"Oh man. That's something Austin would say!" I tell her, crying again.

"C'mon Ally. Shhh." She says, wrapping her arms around me again. "It's okay. I'm here for you."

"It's definitely not okay Trish!" I scream.

"Hey, calm down. I'm trying my best here." She says, frowning.

"Sorry. I'm just really frustrated right now. I really appreciate you being here." I say.

"Anything for a best friend. Just know that you are going to have to tell Austin at some point." She replies.

"Oh don't remind me." I mutter.
